JJ Carpenter & Renovation

JJ Carpenter & Renovation is a Somerville, MA-area carpentry and renovation business whose clearest track record shows up in building permits rather than reviews: nine projects on file, spanning gut renovations, porches, siding, framing, and a bathroom addition, almost all in Somerville, plus one chimney removal in Revere in December 2023. The one written review on file is older — a five-star Angi account from October 2018 calling the work "quality" and the crew "friendly," without much further detail. Massachusetts doesn't require a license to work as a carpenter, so having none on file here isn't a red flag. There isn't much recent, detailed customer feedback to weigh, so it's worth asking for references from a recent job and confirming current availability and pricing directly — especially given how varied the permitted work has been, from decks to a bathroom addition.
