John Delandy is listed as a remodeling contractor with a Dennis Port, Massachusetts address at 273 Lower County Road and a headquarters address across the state line at 11 Blue Fox Rd, Salem, New Hampshire, reachable on a New Hampshire phone number. The work advertised is whole-room and whole-house remodeling: kitchens, bathrooms, basements, full-home renovations and additions. Five projects appear in the permit record, and the jobs sit well apart from each other geographically rather than clustering in one town. The customer record is thin and it is not good. One rating exists, and it is a single star; it dates from 2018, so it describes an older chapter of the business rather than current practice, and nothing more recent has been left anywhere else. With one dated account and no counterweight, there is no basis for a score in either direction. The licence position needs care. BuildZoom shows a verified-licence badge and says the business holds a Home Improvement Contractor licence plus eight further licences with the Massachusetts board, but it prints no licence numbers, and the licences are attributed to Raymond J Choquette — a name that matches neither the trading name nor the business name on the listing. Nine records under a different person's name is not a credential you should take at face value. If you are considering them for a kitchen, bathroom, basement or addition, ask for the HIC registration number in writing and check it yourself against the Massachusetts registry, confirm which entity and which named person the registration belongs to, and ask for references from jobs finished in the last year or two. Given the one account on file concerns work left incomplete, structure payments against completed milestones rather than up front.

Kitchen remodel, waterproof basement, install windows. This may seem unbelievable but I contracted John Delandy in 2011 to do a kitchen makeover, water proof and do repointing in the basement and to replace front porch windows. He completed the kitchen work and it was done satisfactory. Waterproofing the basement was done but water still leaks between the rock foundation. The front porch windows were NEVER done after given a check for $2,250 for 10 Harvey windows. All I ever got were phone calls about when he would return to complete job but NEVER did! Unfortunately I believed that he would return to complete the work. He knew at the time I was dealing with a lot: cancer, and depression. Years ago I did look into filing suit but found that it was too late. After all these years I just hope others will be aware to not fully pay anything until the job is competed. I hope someone will learn from my mistake Jill S.
