JOHN K. YOUNG LANDSCAPING looks like the kind of Tewksbury company people hire to keep a property in shape week after week, then call again when a lawn needs real repair. Its BBB profile says it handles residential and commercial maintenance, grounds management, landscape installs and construction, mulching, cleanups, sod, dethatching and aeration, plus commercial snow removal. The public profiles do not tell one neat story. Google sits at 3.2 stars from five ratings, while Angi and HomeAdvisor each show 4.6 from 56, so the small Google page is mixed and the longer write-up history leans older. Many of the detailed comments date from 2017 through 2021 rather than the last year or two. The recent notes are useful because they show the day-to-day work people still call about. In a May 2024 Houzz review, a customer said the crew came every time they were scheduled. A month earlier on Google, one customer said a mulch order was quoted quickly and delivered within an hour. In late 2023, a Google reviewer wrote that the company had just been hired for a 60-plus-unit condo property, which suggests they take on recurring multi-unit maintenance as well as single-home jobs. The older reviews point to a real lawn-work lane. In a 2019 Angi review, a homeowner said John talked them out of expensive sod and toward hydroseeding for a yard complicated by a dog. Other 2018 and 2019 reviews on Angi and HomeAdvisor described traditional seeding with loam, seed, and rake work, reseeding damaged areas, spring cleanups, and shrub removal. A 2022 Google reviewer posted a yard photo ahead of a wedding and said the crew took good care of the lawn. The question to raise before booking is follow-through if something gets damaged, and whether your property fits their route for recurring service. In an August 2023 Google complaint, a neighbor said a crew dented their fence while mowing next door and the promised repair kept getting pushed back. A 2020 Angi reviewer said they were dropped from the client list after about a year because the property was “out of his way.” This looks like a fit for routine lawn care, mulch, cleanup work, and seeding jobs, especially if you want one company that also handles condo or commercial-style maintenance. Before signing on, get the visit schedule in writing, ask who handles damage claims, and make sure your address works for their regular route.
Very pleasant people to work with and do an excellent job AND unlike some other companies they don’t just disappear periodically, they come every time they are scheduled.
Message him about mulch pricing/delivery. Got back to asap. Affordable and delivered it within an hour!! Thanks again!
Our 60 plus condo units just recently contracted with the Young company and they are doing a STELLAR job. I can't these guys enough.
Guy never worked on my yard but his guys mowed my neighbor’s lawn. They banged into our fence and put a dent in the fence. Called him up and he said he would come by and fix it. That was a month ago. Just called him today and he said he would fix it in 2-3 weeks. That is unacceptable. Will be blasting his unprofessionalism on Facebook.
Professional and courteous personnel who take great care of the yard and make it look beautiful. Below is a picture prior to a wedding we hosted in our yard.
