K-ROD Painting

At 6 a.m. on a Saturday in June 2015, a homeowner sent out a request for painting quotes; by 6:15 they were on the phone with Kaisson Rodrigues. K-Rod Painting has been painting around Marlborough long enough that its written reviews reach back to 2013, and Rodrigues is named personally in accounts from 2013 straight through 2024. His Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration is active on the state registry. The jobs people describe run from whole exteriors to a single room. In an October 2021 review a homeowner who collected quotes from four companies for power washing, surface preparation and exterior painting picked K-Rod on a friend's recommendation and a reasonable bid. An April 2017 reviewer singled out the part of the job nobody sees afterward: "They did the hardest and most important thing without prompting: good surface prep." A May 2022 customer wrote that Kaisson came back to the house once the deck paint had dried, to help carry the furniture back onto the deck. The recent accounts describe the same shape of work. In April 2024 a Google reviewer said the crew was respectful, quiet and clean, arrived on time each day and finished on time; a July 2024 customer had old deck boards replaced and shutters put up inside the window they were given. Costs come up as steady rather than cheap — a September 2015 Houzz customer said the cost came in as estimated on a siding, trim, painting and deck-staining job. The thing to settle before booking comes from July 2026. A customer happy with the painting itself wrote that when the crew stained the deck they dripped stain on an established garden and trampled some of the plants without covering them, and said they showed no care or concern for the property. Agree up front on how beds, shrubs and furniture near the work will be protected. Separately, a December 2021 homeowner having walls and ceilings repaired after electrical work said a skim-coating repair took a second attempt and left dust in adjacent areas; that customer would use K-Rod for general wall repair and painting, but not for more serious wall repairs. For interior and exterior repaints, deck staining and the patching that comes with them, this is a straightforward call, with thirteen years of written accounts and an A+ letter grade at the Better Business Bureau behind it. Get the protection of plants and adjacent rooms written into the scope, and if your job turns on structural wall repair rather than patch-and-paint, ask who handles that part.
