KB-Mac Inc. was barely two weeks old the first time it made the news. Incorporated on 14 June 2021, it turned up that same month in coverage of an IBEW Local 103 and NECA program built to grow the number of women- and minority-owned electrical firms — the Revere Journal and the Chelsea Record both named KB-Mac in the inaugural class, founded by then-Local 103 business agent Kenell Broomstein and paired with Sullivan & McLaughlin. Five years on, the company works out of 6 Ericsson St in Dorchester and lists 20 employees. Its own site calls it an M/WBE electrical contractor affiliated with Local 103, with Broomstein as owner and Andrew Stearns as general manager. Broomstein's Massachusetts electrician licence is active in the state registry; BBB separately lists a second Massachusetts electricians' board number for the business, expiring in July 2028. The work KB-Mac puts forward is commercial rather than residential — commercial electrician services, fire alarm work, electrical installation, project estimating, and commercial construction. That shape matters for a homeowner: this is a shop built around jobsites and general contractors, not around house calls. What's thin is the homeowner's own voice. BBB accredited the company in July 2026 and grades it A+, with no complaints published — but no customer reviews either, and the 2021 coverage describes a company at its founding rather than its work since. Nothing here says the work is poor; there simply isn't public testimony from people who hired them. So: if you're a general contractor or property manager sourcing a union electrical sub in Greater Boston, the active licence, the Local 103 affiliation and the current BBB accreditation are real and checkable. If you're a homeowner, ask first whether they take residential work at all, then ask which licensed electrician will be on your job and for a few references you can call — with no published customer history, that legwork falls to you.
