Ken's HVAC Service works out of 28 College Farm Rd in Waltham and is hired for heating, air-conditioning and refrigeration work across the western Boston suburbs. Reviewers describe an owner-operated outfit: a 2025 customer names "Ken, the owner" arriving alongside a technician called George to replace an old thermostat with a Nest, and George turns up by name again on other jobs. The Better Business Bureau lists the business under Heating and Air Conditioning. The thing customers bring up most is speed when the weather turns. A May 2026 homeowner says the team fit them in same-day when their AC failed on one of the hottest May days on record, arrived at the exact time stated, and diagnosed and replaced the part in about 30 minutes. A July 2026 reviewer describes being told by another company that they needed an eight-to-twelve-thousand-dollar system replacement that weekend, then having Ken replace a capacitor and hose off the condenser coils instead. Several 2025 reviews tell the same shape of story during heat waves, including one where the system was back up within 90 minutes. Price shows up as often as speed. A May 2026 customer had their whole basement and third-floor heating and cooling replaced in under three days and says Ken's price was the lowest of four bids they took, with booties worn indoors and the site cleaned at the end of each day. A January 2026 reviewer who collected several quotes says the same. Mini-splits, gas furnaces, thermostats and refrigerant work all appear by name in the reviews, so the work is not limited to one kind of call. The volume is real and current: Google shows 5 stars from 111 ratings, and Angi and HomeAdvisor each publish 4.8 from 44 — though those two are the same profile mirrored, so they corroborate each other rather than adding an independent read. A neighbour posting on Nextdoor in May 2026 called it "a great and honest experience". The one substantive complaint is worth raising before booking. An August 2024 HomeAdvisor reviewer rated the company 2 stars over a single-zone mini-split cleaning, saying the outdoor unit was looked at but not worked on, the indoor housing and coil were never opened up, and the louvers were forced and no longer close properly. The Better Business Bureau also records one complaint on file, with the count published but no text. Neither of those is reflected on the Google side. For a homeowner with a failed AC or furnace who wants someone who answers the phone in season, this is a strong call. If the job is a mini-split deep clean rather than a repair or install, agree in writing exactly which parts get opened and cleaned.
“Just to add, I had a great and honest experience with Ken’s hvac service”
Ken and his team are wonderful. They show up on time and are fair the pricing. All their work has been excellent. I highly recommend them.
So a true story here. Our AC failed this weekend Fourth of July. Big heat wave wave in Boston as we all know. I called several HVAC companies and of course they’re all very booked but a guy shows up from a company I shall not name and after doing a little bit of examinations tells me I need a new AC system immediately. It’ll be eight to $12,000. He can do it Monday. Meanwhile, I had also called Ken and he showed up (I believe this is Ken himself), about an hour and a half later. He proceeded to take a look and then simply replaced our capacitor unit and hosed off the condenser coils with my water hose. Immediately, the fan on the external unit at our house was functioning again which the other guy told me was broken and needed to be replaced, hence need for full system replacement. So I had a functional AC system…for $375 vs $10,000!!! What can I say Ken? It’s an honest guy and straight shooter…outstanding service. Highly recommend and not scam artist. Thank you Ken.
Ken and his team were able to schedule me in same-day when my AC broke on one of the hottest May days on record. They were prompt, arriving at the exact time stated, and then it only took about 30mins to both diagnose the problem and replace the part. Bonus, price was less than expected! Will be calling again anytime I have AC needs because they were that good. Thanks, Ken!
Really quick and reliable service with excellent communication for the appointment even when I had to make changes. Thanks Ken!
Ken’s team was very communicative and replaced our entire heating and cooling systems in our basement and third floor in less than three days. They wore booties when in the house and kept a very clean job site after each day. Ken’s price was the lowest of the four vendors we got bids from. I would highly recommend!
