Kevin Hardwood Floor is a one-man-with-crew flooring operation — customers deal with Kevin directly, usually by text — doing refinishing, sanding, and repairs at prices reviewers repeatedly call the most competitive they found. Speed is the other draw: one June 2025 customer had floors done three days after first contact; a 2022 reviewer hired him to skip a two-week wait elsewhere. But this is a genuinely mixed record, and the complaints are about the work itself. An August 2025 reviewer paid $1,500 for a refinish and described a floor of imperfections, pushed toward a semi-gloss they didn't want. A July 2025 customer got a good price but needed multiple return visits to fix mistakes. Earlier accounts repeat the pattern: an August 2024 reviewer said only half the house was taped off ahead of sanding dust, a July 2023 customer's floor came out hazy after buffering, and a December 2023 review said flatly that he 'does not see his obvious errors while he is working.' A January 2022 note described disrespectful customer service. The positives are real — punctual, responsive, fast, cheap, and the two most recent reviews (February and March 2026) are both five stars. The honest read: a budget refinisher whose results vary with supervision. If you hire him, agree the finish in writing, walk the floor together before final payment, and insist on full dust containment. Right call for a fast, inexpensive refinish you'll inspect closely; wrong call if you want set-and-forget perfection.
They did an amazing job!
Kevin did a very good job. He was very punctual and carried out the work in a timely manner. Very easy to work with.
I was not happy with the results of the hardwood floor refinish. I paid $1,500 to get my floors done, and ended up with a mess. The issues I found were that the entire floor has imperfections in the finish - I wanted a satin finish, but was pushed to get a semi gloss that I was not happy with and nothing was corrected because I had paid. He said he would come back but also would charge me instead of standing behind his work. I have attached some pictures. Other issues were that the poly was applied so heavy that I had dry puddles on the floor. I had other quotes for $800, but Kevin's quote included the baseboard install and I wanted it all done.
Very competitive price. Work quality was good, except he had to return multiple times to fix some mistakes (at no additional charge) and left unused boards for me to return to the wood supply store.
I needed floors done asap, Kevin came in and made it happen. Job was completed in 3 days from when contact was made. I was very pleased with the job done and would highly recommend this company from the experience I had.
