Doors, drawer fronts, hardware, veneered cabinet sides, pull-out shelving: a 2022 customer had 26 doors, 10 drawer fronts and a corner lazy susan replaced, the sides veneered and pull-outs added in the lower cabinets. Across 108 Google ratings, the average is 4.9. The local team turns up by name in review after review. Allen handles the consultation and the quote, Mike Hurley measures and runs the job, and Darrin and Cameron — father and son, according to a June 2025 review — do the installing. A December 2025 customer timed them on a November 2025 refacing: four days, on site by 7:30, gone by 3, and they took no lunch. Timing is the other thing customers keep bringing up. A February 2026 reviewer's doors arrived exactly eight weeks after ordering, as promised, and the install took three days, also as promised; a February 2024 customer had a kitchen finished in three days. The recent work is the same shape — a kitchen cabinet face lift in May 2026 that the customer called fast and clean, and, that same month, cupboard doors, drawers and hardware replaced in part of a kitchen with the colour matched to what was already there. In February 2026 a customer left one star, writing that they agreed to the quoted price, signed the contract and sent a 50% deposit check, and that they cannot recommend working with the company. Get the schedule and the deposit terms written into the contract before you sign. The company's own site says the Kitchen Tune-Up brand was founded in 1988 in Aberdeen, South Dakota by David and Cindy Haglund, joined Home Franchise Concepts in 2021, and runs through independently owned locations. This crew travels when it suits a job: an August 2024 review describes Allen and Mike taking on a project in Vermont after the customer couldn't get local craftsmen, finishing in less time than quoted and at the quoted price. The right call when your cabinet boxes are sound and you want new doors, hardware and a more usable layout without months of construction — a June 2024 customer had two bathrooms' cabinets refaced on exactly that reasoning, and a 2023 customer had 20-year-old solid cherry cabinets restored. Ask what the lead time is on the door style you pick, and pin the deposit schedule and install window down in writing.
