KW Plumbing & Heating is a father-and-son outfit built around Kenneth "Kenny" Wood, working out of Westborough and covering a wide stretch of central and south coast Massachusetts, from Framingham and Worcester to towns as far as New Bedford and Wareham, by the company's own account. The business says it's family-owned with over 35 years in the trade, and reviewers consistently name Ken or Kenny personally rather than a dispatched crew. The thing that keeps coming up is speed on the emergency calls: a burst pipe on a cold night fixed the same afternoon, a bathtub leak diagnosed and closed in under 20 minutes, a faucet and a pair of shut-off valves swapped in about half an hour without an upsell pitch. One reviewer with a 55-year-old house and its original plumbing called the outside-faucet repair "reasonably priced and expertly done" as recently as May 2026. Pricing comes up unprompted and favorably more than once — "didn't try to up-sell," "reasonable prices," "far superior parts than what was originally used." The other side of the record is worth knowing before booking: three separate 2024-2026 reviews describe a job that started fine and then went cold — an initial visit or a partial fix, followed by no callback for weeks despite repeated calls. One customer said a drain job was promised for that Friday, then heard nothing for over a week; another said a leaking pipe got fixed but a related hot water problem never did, with a promised return visit that never happened. A single 2023 review calls the company unprofessional and overpriced with no further detail given. KW is a certified installer of Viessmann and Rinnai equipment, which lines up with the water-heater and boiler work its reviews describe, and a furnace assessment shows up in at least one job. Google shows 3.9 stars from 16 ratings. This looks like the right call for a plumbing emergency where Ken himself shows up — most reviewers describe the on-site work as fast, clean, and fairly priced. Before hiring for anything bigger than a same-day fix, it's worth pinning down a firm follow-up date in writing, given the handful of accounts where a return visit or a promised quote didn't materialize.
I need so repair work on outside faucets. They showed up as promised and did the job in just a few hours. Very reasonably priced and the work was expertly done. 55 year old home with original plumbing. I am very happy.
My ex-wife called today (Friday). Serious issue. He asked if she would be home in the morning. Never came, never called. So a long weekend ahead. I had to select one star to be allowed to post.
Arrived on time and was courteous. Diagnosed and fixed a bathtub leak in under 20 mins. Will hire again.
Called KW on Tues Jan 14th around 8am asking for drain service. Ken sr. arrived around 10am and looked at job. He said should be able to do Friday and that he would communicate to his son to send me a quote and get scheduled. Wednesday there was no contact, so I left a message late in the day asking for an update. Thursday morning, I called and got Ken jr. I asked for an update. He said what is this about? I told him and he said I will call my dad and get back to you. Thursday, Friday, Sat and Sunday go by with no contact. As I write this review it is Thursday Jan 23rd and I have heard nothing from either one of them. Needless to say, I got somebody else. I am baffled how they blew me off and wasted my time. Jan 23rd update: I just got a message from KW Plumbing after leaving a complaint on their website message form: Here is their response to my complaint of no contact. First lol, best of luck Second I'm a good plumber, I run this from my phone in my pocket... I'm a shitty secretary. I'm sorry Jan 24th I live in a small ranch style home. My toilet, kitchen and bathroom sinks were out of order not just the toilet. Basically, no water use upstairs. I have a small bathroom in a finished basement thankfully. Washing dishes in the bathroom sink as I waited for your call. I talked directly to your son after two days of no contact, and he said, "I will call my father and get back to you". And he just blows me off! You can minimize this all you want. One phone call could have prevented everything.
I had no hot water. I called Ken Wood Plumbing at 8am ( cold day) He arrived 1/2 hour later. He replaced a valve , assessed my furnace (40 y/0 ) recommended a new one . He was prompt courteous knowledgeable. Thank You 😊 Elizabeth O’Malley
