BuildZoom's permit record runs from 2008 to 2025 and reads like a full-service remodeling shop: kitchen and bathroom renovations, window and roof replacement, a rebuilt chimney, porch columns and cedar siding repaired, floors sanded and sealed, a basement finished. The jobs are spread across Brookline, Cambridge, Arlington, Charlestown, Milton, Roxbury, Everett, Waltham and Attleboro as well as Dorchester itself, and two of them landed in the past two years. The listings disagree about who runs it. BBB names John Laing as owner, files the company under Real Estate, and puts the start at January 2001 with nine employees; BuildZoom names Noel G Laing as president and treats it as a general contractor. BBB has issued no rating at all, saying it lacks sufficient information. BuildZoom lists a Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration (#132848) as active. That is the directory's record rather than a confirmation. For a kitchen, a bath or exterior repair work around Boston, the permit history is genuine and reasonably broad — but BuildZoom says it has received no reviews for the company. Ask for references from the 2024 and 2025 jobs, and check the registration number with the state before you sign anything.
