When a 19-year-old system quit during a heat wave, a customer writing in July 2026 said a technician came that same morning and a new AC and furnace were running two days later. Another July 2026 reviewer watched the crew replace a central AC in pouring rain and clean up before leaving. The same first names keep surfacing — Chris on estimates, Tyler, Matt and Markus on installs. In a December 2025 review, a homeowner described duct work replaced and insulated inside a tight window; a July 2025 review described a master-bathroom renovation where a Lamco plumber did the plumbing. Its Massachusetts HVAC license is active in the state registry, and its BBB page carries an A+ grade, though the company is not BBB accredited. On Nextdoor, a Belmont neighbor named the company in an April 2026 heat-pump thread and called the pricing reasonable. The complaints are worth reading first, and they cluster at the front of the job rather than at the wrench work. A July 2024 reviewer said the estimator came out and then went on vacation without handing the job off, leaving them chasing updates for over a week. A November 2024 one-star review called the employees unprofessional and rude. In an April 2023 review, a five-year customer described a technician who warned that a combustion analyzer could force a lock-out of the furnace in February, and who was asked to leave. A 2023 three-star review described a Lamco-installed split system, seven years old, still down after two visits and a wrong part. An undated BBB review alleges the final charge did not match what was said up front. One practical question: a 2022 reviewer said Lamco had sold them a Rinnai system and no longer had an in-house expert for it, so ask whether they service your specific equipment brand. Lamco fits the planned replacement — the furnace facing its last winter, a heat-pump conversion, ducts that need redoing — better than the one-off oddity. Before booking, pin down who owns your job if your estimator is away, and get the quote and any change-order terms in writing.
