In a March 2024 review, a customer said Capital Air Systems installed a new heat pump in their home in 2020 and that within the first week the thermostat would not hold a temperature — set at 67, it would routinely get to 73 — and that they had a technician out and he recalibrated the thermostat. In an August 2024 review, a customer said a Panasonic unit installed a few years ago never worked properly from the first week, that Tim Morgan was very responsive at first and sent someone to add coolant, and that it fixed the problem for a week or so, until it leaked out. In a December 2024 review, a customer wrote that they had a horrible experience with Capital Air. A July 2022 reviewer said Capital Air came in as low bid on a 6 unit dual zone 36k BTU Mitsubishi Reverse AC/Heat Pump system, and that the job was finished professionally and ahead of schedule, with no change orders or additional costs over original quotes. Its Massachusetts HVAC license 914-SM-B is expired on the state registry. Ask about the thermostat a March 2024 reviewer described.

Similar to the other 1 star reviews, we had a horrible experience with Capital Air. I was hesitant to write a review as I wanted to forget about the nightmare of an experience, but if it prevents another family from going through what we did (and giving Tim any additional business), it is worth it. We installed 2 Mitsubishi heat pumps, Trane furnace systems and HVAC ductwork to convert from baseboard/oil heat to central air/forced heat with propane. Tim, the owner, is a total charlatan and upsold us on a system that his team admitted that they had never worked with before and didn't know how to install (I heard them swearing and complaining through the newly cut holes in the floor where the ducts were being put). There were endless issues from the very beginning and at the end of the day, one furnace never ever worked. This was during the winter months and Tim along with our contractor at the time, who brought capital Air in, were unphased that my family with 2 small kids had no heat during the winter. Had to have Wilson brothers come in to redo much of the ductwork, replace the furnace that they thankfully got under warranty, and fix other mistakes that were made. It's too bad that there's no recourse for many of us so our strength is through word of mouth.
I had a Panasonic unit installed a few years ago and from the first week, it never worked properly, Tim Morgan, the owner of Capital, was very responsive at first, sending someone here to add coolant, which fixed the problem for a week or so, until it leaked out and stopped cooling. He did this for several years whenever there was a heat wave, always with the promise to fix the leak when things slowed down, but now, several years have gone by, and he no longer returns my calls. A few years ago, when the unit was first installed on June 8th, it had stopped cooling by June 19th. THE UNIT HAS NEVER WORKED FOR MORE THAN A WEEK AT A TIME. I even offered to purchase a new one from him, if he just kept the current one working through the summer, but he does not call me back or answer my emails. He seems like a nice guy, but I would strongly advise against doing business with him.
We had Capital Air Systems install a new heat pump in our home in 2020. Within the first week we noticed that the thermostat would not hold a temperature (set at 67 and would routinely get to 73). Had a technician out and he "recalibrated" the thermostat- however that it did not address the problem. Over the past four years, we have had technicians out numerous times to address this issue (even replacing the thermostat with the same model), with no success. This winter we encountered the same issue, had a technician out, "recalibrated", again, it would not hold a temperature. Were told we would need a new thermostat to which I requested another model as we had two that did not work. Made another appointment for another tech who came out- unfortunately he was not given the information about the request for a new thermostat. After 4 hours, his "fix" was to set the AC to come on when the temperature reached 70. I contacted the office and after several weeks of having to chase them to get an answer- ***'s responded saying that he had contacted LG (manufacturer) and that the thermostat they installed was not compatible with the system they installed. I would be required to pay 2 technicians for half a day ($450/hour) to replace it. In essence, he was telling me that I had to pay $1800 to fix their error!! I would definitely NOT recommend using this company, but if you do, make sure to email them so you have everything in writing!! Unfortunately, I had called the office to set up many of the appointments to deal with this issue, therefore I have no proof of how many times we have contacted his office.
Capital Air came in as low bid on a 6 unit dual zone 36k BTU Mitsubishi Reverse AC/Heat Pump system. Job was finished professionally and ahead of schedule, no change orders or additional costs over original quotes, and the owner was knowledgeable and helpful enough to get a few hundred off MSRP due to multiple units. After 3 years condensers show no sign of wear or corrosion, nor an expensive freon recharge. Efficiency remains constant and as quoted year after year. Power consumption, also as expected and estimated. Knowledgeable and friendly staff, highly recommend and will use for maintenance in future. Below "one-star" reviews don't accurately reflect the quality of work and aftercare shown to customers - more likely than not any no show was most likely on a 95 degree July/August day where equipment failure cannot be predicted due to conditions - crews ensuring a system I previously paid to have installed is quickly back operational is a plus in my book, not a negative.
