Law Fuel and Energy describes itself on its Better Business Bureau listing as offering HVAC and plumbing service. In a 2020 review, a customer wrote that $550 was taken from a credit card and the oil did not arrive on the scheduled day, and that the order was cancelled when there was still no oil. In a separate 2020 review, a customer who cancelled a delivery after the company could not deliver for well over a week wrote that they came out anyway, delivered to a nearly full tank, and would not reimburse the charge. In a 2019 review, a customer wrote that for the second time in a row that winter the oil was charged immediately, the estimated delivery date was more than a week away, and the customer ran out of oil because the delivery was not made. In a 2018 review, a customer wrote that a fuel order the year before took almost 3 weeks to be delivered, and that Law then showed up unannounced, topped off the tank and charged excessive fees for less than 100 gallons. In a 2017 review, a customer described waiting 3 weeks for an order that spring after the company said its truck broke down, then missed scheduled deliveries that fall. In another 2017 review, a customer wrote of being charged $265.82 for an oil order that never showed up, and of still waiting for a refund after cancelling.
Horrible service: took $550 out of CC 9 days ago (3/3). Still no oil ..it didn't arrive in scheduled day, no call. Called them the next day "a problem with the truck", "ran out of oil and had to refill", if you don't get it today if will definitely be tomorrow (2 days in a row). I should have learned, but this was the second time this has happened! Will not be ordering from them again!! UPDATE...still no oil 3/13... cancelled order. Filed complaint with BBB
DO NOT USE. I scheduled a delivery with this Company only to call back and cancel after they couldn't deliver for well over a week. I got oil with another company but they came out anyway and delivered to a nearly full tank. I saw the charge on my card and called. While on the phone with the "manager" she even noted the date I called and cancelled but told me "but you already got the oil so what do you want me to do?" Then proceeded to say even though it is their fault, they won't reimburse the charge and I'll have to dispute the charge with my credit card company and hung up on me. Absolutely pathetic and morally bankrupt.
A year ago I would have probably given 5 stars. I never had any issues and always got a quick delivery. But today is the second time in a row this winter that I have ordered oil, been charged immediately, been given an “estimated delivery date” of more than a week away, then run out of oil because the delivery was not made. I suppose I have to use them for this delivery since I’ve already paid for it (9 days ago), but you’d better believe I will NEVER be using them again. Beyond unacceptable.
I wish I had seen these reviews earlier. I too ordered fuel last year and it took almost 3 weeks to be delivered. (They took my money instantly) In the interim, after calling Law 2-3 times and getting no answer, I ordered oil from another company who delivered the next day! Then Law showed up unannounced and topped off the tank, they charged excessive fees for less than 100 gallons. Never again!
This used to be a decent service... a year ago. I liked I could conveniently order oil online, see my order history. And then in spring their "truck broke down". I spent 3 weeks wating for my order, after which I cancelled and went with a different company. This fall I decided to give them another chance thinking last experience was an exception. They didn't show up as scheduled, then gave me a new date a week and a half later. Didn't show up again. Didn't bother with broken truck excuses this time. When called again on Monday I got "on truck to be delivered this week". You've got to be kidding me! I'm scraping the bottom of my tank by now. Never again.
