Leonard Construction is a small, multi-trade remodeling outfit in West Roxbury that takes on jobs spanning carpentry, masonry, painting, drywall, windows and doors rather than one narrow specialty. On Angi the company describes itself as offering general remodeling and home improvements alongside carpentry, tile and roofing work, and its profile there reports 24 years of experience. The two reviews on file are both five stars, though neither is recent. In a 2007 review, a homeowner described Leonard Construction quarterbacking a porch rebuild — coordinating a mason to rebuild a stone column, propping the porch roof with temporary two-by-four supports, then carefully replacing the original floorboards and railings so no new wood had to be matched in, and repainting the restored sections to blend with the existing, faded finish. A shorter 2020 review simply called out a great price. Angi shows a perfect 5.0-star average across both. There isn't much written history to lean on — just two reviews spanning 13 years, with nothing posted since January 2020 — so it's worth asking directly about recent projects and current availability before booking. This reads like a small, hands-on operation suited to a repair or remodeling job that touches several trades at once, with someone willing to oversee a subcontractor like a mason while doing the carpentry and finish work personally. Given how little is written about them lately, ask for recent references and a clear scope before signing on.

Mr. Hametaj arrived with the mason promptly at the agreed-on time and we inspected the porch and determined what needed to be done. He coordinated his schedule with the mason and arrived the day before the mason began. As we agreed, he removed some of the floorboards and part of the railings, raised one corner of the porch from the stone column which needed to be rebuilt, and propped up the porch roof in that corner with two-by-fours. When the masonry work was complete, he carefully replaced the original floor boards, avoiding the need to install and match new wood, replaced the railing and wooden wall, fitted new shingles in the places where the original ones had to be removed, and painted the new and restored areas with two coats that matched the original, rather faded paint as well as could be expected. The repaired area is strong and sturdy. The carpentry was well done and the repaired area matches the adjacent areas quite well.
