Steps are the thing. Lermon Masonry pulls out the rotted or cracked set and puts in a new one: in a January 2026 review, a bulkhead's rotted wood steps came out and a concrete set went in, site left clean, done in a single day. A June 2025 customer had front steps removed and rebuilt in two days. In April 2026 a Thumbtack customer had brick stairs repaired and called the price reasonable. Sander Junior runs the crew out of Malden, and he has been hired 146 times through Thumbtack alone, where 110 ratings average 4.8 and Top Pro badges are listed for 2021 through 2025. Google puts him at 4.6 across 18 ratings. His Angi page runs under the name Lermon Construction at the same address. Water is the other half of the work. In a 2025 Angi review, the crew dug down to basement floor level outside the house, repointed, applied mortar and water-sealing layers, then installed a french drain to divert water from the hill behind the house. A property manager wrote in 2024 about two jobs at a Lynn condo complex — one waterproofing project he says saved the units from flooding, and a retention wall. In 2021 another customer had a leaky basement sealed and the concrete on a front porch repaired. The bigger hardscape work shows up too. A December 2025 customer had a 6-by-40-foot retaining wall and a full concrete pour to fix a garage roof, with no objections to pulling permits. A 2024 reviewer had a 23-foot badly cracked concrete sidewalk taken out and new pavers laid inside two days. In August 2025, an in-ground pool deck came out in a tight backyard that was elevated in places with no room for heavy equipment; that customer says it finished on time and right on the quote. Two older accounts pull the other way. In November 2021, a customer who had new front steps and a patio built said the patio pavers were still loose and shifting after two return visits, and that the cement foundation in front of the new stone steps was damaged. In a June 2022 review, another customer says a repointing and chimney-cap job for two chimneys, promised for the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend, was cancelled the day before over a rain forecast. For steps, a patio, a retaining wall or water getting into a basement, this is a crew that moves fast and cleans up behind itself. Put the paver base and what happens if it settles in writing, and agree the start date and what a rainy forecast does to it.
