DeVincenzo and Sons is an Everett masonry and concrete company that describes itself as a third-generation family business. By the company's own account, Benito DeVincenzo started it after arriving in the US in 1949, building staircases and stone fireplaces for local homeowners; his son Dante took over in 1989 and his grandson David in 2020. It says it serves commercial and residential customers throughout Greater Boston. In a September 2020 Everett Independent article, a property owner named O'Neil said that when the wall was built, DeVincenzo & Sons asked what to do with the space between the wall and the building, and Dave DeVincenzo suggested putting in a small patio for people in the building to use. In a May 2017 2★ Google review, a homeowner said they submitted a detailed quote request on the website for a large residential job — replacing a bulkhead, regrading the yard and cutting out a basement window — called several times over multiple days, left messages, and were never contacted. Its BBB page carries an A+ grade and lists it under mason contractors. A Massachusetts construction supervisor licence held by Dante DeVincenzo shows as expired on the state registry, which lists it as "Null and Void."

It was a large residential job - replace a bulkhead, regrade the yard and cut out a basement window. Maybe my job was too small? That doesn't explain why they didn't answer their phone.
