Lexel Moving works out of Boston, with additional offices in Waltham, MA and New York, NY, and co-founder Alex Lendel still listed on the company's own site. It says it's been in business about a decade, handling everything from local Boston-area moves to long-distance and interstate relocations, plus specialty work like fine art and antiques. The clearest current signal is 99 Google ratings averaging 4.7, and the last several months of reviews back that up: crews get singled out by name for wrapping glass furniture and full kitchens without damage, and for showing up with a flat-rate quote that held steady through a 110-mile move from Connecticut to Boston. Independent scoring sites tell a similar story — movebuddha puts the company at 4.4 out of 5 with 90% positive reviews across roughly 398 total ratings, and a separate directory explicitly notes Lexel is an independent mover rather than a franchise or a broker, which matters in an industry where subcontracted brokers are a common source of complaints. The history isn't spotless, though. A handful of older reviews describe real problems: one customer said the crew added an unrequested extra mover on moving day and pressured them into signing a new contract before continuing, another accused the company of withholding a family member's furniture and threatening to leave it on the curb, and a 2021 review described movers skipping masks and leaving items behind. None of that shows up in the eight most recent reviews, which are uniformly positive, but it's specific enough and serious enough to ask about directly — get the crew size and total cost confirmed in writing before moving day. One more thing worth flagging: Trustpilot shows a noticeably lower 2.8 out of 5, though from a small number of reviews, in contrast to the 4.4-4.7 range everywhere else. For a straightforward local or long-distance move, especially one involving fragile or valuable items, the recent track record here is strong. Get the final headcount and price locked in before the truck arrives, and ask directly how they'd handle a dispute if one came up — the older reviews suggest that's the one area worth pressure-testing.

Jose and his team were wonderful. Good communication and clear instruction. They assisted in moving my prepacked boxes, and also to help packing my glass containing desks and tv stands safely. Quotes were accurate and multiple payment options available.

These are the BEST movers we have ever used. Not only did they arrive on time, but they were kind, very professional, and extremely careful with all our stuff. After packing up, and upon arrival at the new location, they took time to ask where we wanted everything, asked our opinion when setting everything up and would adjust as needed. It was a super hot day and they worked hard, making the most of their time. We also had them pack up all of our kitchen with their supplies. It was expertly wrapped and all arrived in-tact. Would highly recommend using Lexel! Lastly, after getting a few quotes from other movers, theirs was the most competitive. I appreciated the high quality service for a very affordable price! I didn't feel like we were being overcharged at all, which I have found often happens with movers. Shout out to Nick, Galo, and Curits, thank you again!!

Our experience with Lexel was great! The team was communicative before and during the move. Our movers (Carlos, Jose, and Oscar) were organized and efficient. Carlos was our team lead, and he did a great job explaining the best way to wrap larger items and outlined the process for move in/out days. The team communicated in advance when they were 30m-1hr out from both locations. We were happy with the service!
