LoConte Painting, run by owner Chris LoConte out of Lynnfield, holds an active Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration and a Better Business Bureau A+ grade. Reviews describe two things this company keeps getting hired for: repainting older homes that need real prep work, and refinishing kitchen cabinets. A recent review describes reviving a 143-year-old historic home and barn, where LoConte consulted on the scope of exterior work and handled partial lead paint removal — the company is licensed for lead paint abatement. In a 2018 review, a homeowner described clapboards that had gone brittle after 20-plus years of neglect, requiring special care before they could be repainted. Reviewers keep coming back to the prep work itself: a 2025 review describes a solid week spent on prep alone, done in 90-degree heat, before any paint went on, and another recent review describes replacing damaged window sills and trim and stripping peeling paint layers before repainting a home's shingles. Cabinet refinishing is a recurring, separate job type — reviews describe kitchen cabinets disassembled, sprayed and reassembled, painted white to look "fresh out of a store," and repainted alongside new hardware installation. In a 2024 review, a customer describes hiring LoConte for three major projects at the same house over a decade, including repainting the interior twice as their color preferences changed. The written record on file runs to 33 reviews from 2017 through 2026 across eight platforms, nearly all five stars — the one exception is a 4.5-star Angi review from 2020 that still describes the crew as reliable with good attention to detail. Anyone hiring LoConte for an older home with lead paint concerns should ask directly about the abatement process up front, since that's clearly part of the company's regular scope.
Recently had Chris paint our kitchen cabinets & they look amazing! Him & his team were very on time & tidy in their whole process & did a fantastic job installing the new hardware that I ordered. He was very communicative throughout the whole process & enjoyed having him here! Will definitely be using Loconte painting for future projects
We had Chris paint the exterior of our home; it’s older and needed a lot scraping and repairs. He and his crew removed the layers of pealing paint and made the shingles look great once again as well as replacing damaged window sills and trim. Chris refinished the ceilings of both front and back porticos to show the natural beauty of wood. Chris and his crew were on site each day by 7:00 and did everything on the list we discussed at the time of the quote. Our home looks amazing and we’ve already had neighbors compliment his work and the finished product. We could not be happier with the outcome and will have Chris LoConte back for future painting projects.
From start to finish our experience with Chris and his crew was outstanding. We made some big color changes in our kitchen/family room, including painting our kitchen cabinets. Chris helped us figure out what colors would most improve the look of the space and the results are outstanding. We also painted a wood paneled office that took considerable prep time, as well as 2 other rooms. With this project, Chris has now painted every room in our house - we wouldn't pick anyone else!
If you are looking for professional, courteous, and skilled painters, I would highly recommend Chris LoConte and his team. They revived our 143-year-old historic home and barn! Chris consulted with us to determine the scope of work that the exterior of our house needed. With Chris’s assistance, we selected the correct paint to use and he educated us on the process needed for the partial lead paint removal; Loconte painting is licensed for lead paint abatement. They carefully prepared and cleaned the site every day. Our 1883 farmhouse home looks spectacular, and people walking by have stopped to tell us how wonderful the paint job looks. We were so pleased with the exterior paint job that we hired Chris and his team to paint the interior of our home. Every day, Chris and his team arrived on time and worked professionally and politely on the job site. His attention to detail and clear communication made the process run smoothly and efficiently.
Chris reviewed my cabinet painting project and offered suggestions to maximize the benefit while keeping the cost in check. He also suggested other areas that if painted would compliment the fresh cabinets making the final project "pop". The price was fair for the effort involved. Chris and his team did a great job with the preparation, painting, assembly and clean up. They use HEPA filtered sanders for all the sanding and there was basically NO dust in the work area or anywhere else in the house. I recommend using LoConte Painting for you painting needs!
