LoConte Painting is a small painting outfit run by Chris LoConte, and the thing homeowners keep writing about is not the paint — it is the preparation underneath it. Angi and HomeAdvisor each show 5.0 across 24 ratings, and the Better Business Bureau grades the business A+. The prep comes up again and again. In a January 2024 review a homeowner said no one had ever prepared her walls and woodwork the way he did, and that the finished living room looked like an entirely new room. A May 2023 reviewer having seven rooms, trim and doors painted wrote that the crew arrived on day one with real equipment rather than just paint and a brush, and that the wall and molding prep made the result look like new sheetrock and plaster. An August 2024 reviewer singled out thorough prep work, and a September 2019 one said the crew spent a long time prepping the house. Cabinet refinishing is the other recurring specialty. A November 2023 reviewer described kitchen cabinets disassembled, sprayed and reassembled and called the result amazing; a February 2019 customer had wood cabinets painted white and said they looked fresh out of a store, then hired the company again for interior walls and ceilings. A March 2018 reviewer said the cabinet work made the kitchen look brand new for a fraction of a replacement. Exteriors show up on harder houses. In August 2018 a homeowner whose clapboards had been neglected for twenty years and had gone brittle credited the crew with the special care they needed, and noted the owner was on the job site the whole time. In the January 2024 review, paint products were chosen and shingles prepared specifically to stop peeling. Reviewers across the years describe daily cleanup, punctuality and color suggestions they were happy with. Two practical notes. The written record is deep but not fresh: the newest of the 24 reviews is from March 2025, and most of them are from 2018 to 2020, so ask for recent local references rather than relying on the older ones. And a March 2018 reviewer noted approvingly that he will not paint in bad weather rather than compromise the finish — sensible, but it means an exterior booking can move with the forecast, so agree how a weather delay gets handled before you start.
