Lord Exteriors is a one-owner exterior-trades business run by Kevin Paul Lord out of 2 Leonard Dr in East Falmouth. Better Business Bureau records list the business as started in 2016 (about a decade), while its Angi profile separately claims 22 years of experience — the two self-reported tenures don't line up. BBB and Angi describe the practiced work as exterior design, fences, painting and carpentry trim, plus roofing, siding and gutters, and roofing is by far what the written record actually documents. The genuine positive record is real but limited to a handful of accounts from 2017 through early 2023: reviewers describe finished roof repairs, gutter and leaf-guard installation, shingle work and a chimney repair, several praising Kevin's attention to detail and follow-through on problem areas. One BuildZoom reviewer who had posted a negative review in 2018 came back the same day to say the roofing, shingling and masonry work was ultimately done well. Set against that is a deposit-and-disappear pattern that recurs across years and platforms. BuildZoom reviewers in 2021 and 2022 describe signing a contract, paying a deposit, and then getting excuses before Kevin stopped responding and blocked calls; a 2022 Google review separately describes a $12,000 deposit taken on a $30,000 roof and skylight job with no work performed; and a 2024 Google review alleges the same thing again — a $2,000 deposit cashed for siding work, followed by excuses and no permit ever filed with the building department. A 2019 BuildZoom review adds that the contractor's license had expired and no permit was pulled for that job. Most recently, Google reviews from November 2024 through January 2025 turn sharply negative on workmanship itself: trampled property and damaged siding left unaddressed, an overcharged and rushed roof job with nails and debris left behind, and one flat one-star "bad service" with no detail. A Better Business Bureau complaint is on file for failing to respond, contributing to BBB's B- grade on a non-accredited profile. The most serious concern is independent of any review: Massachusetts's own contractor licensing registry shows Lord Exteriors' Home Improvement Contractor license (#186512) revoked, a finding BuildZoom's own listing corroborates by separately reporting the same license number inactive and once cancelled by the state. Anyone considering hiring should verify current license and insurance status directly with the state before signing anything, insist on a written contract and a pulled permit, and weigh the repeated deposit complaints against the older, genuine praise before paying anything upfront.
bad service
WARNING: This review is for everyone else looking to get work done. Check Kevin Lords newest reviews, his BBB reviews, and contract number. Don’t take my word for it. Check yourself and you’ll see I learned a hard lesson with this guy last summer. $6700 later and smalls claims court date coming up. He talks the talk and then takes your deposit and disappears. I had to chase this idiot down to fire him. The whole time he stares at the ground like he’s about to cry. His famous line of speech is to give you his “his word”. He’s not a man. Only men stand by their word. Only men look you in the eye. You do neither. He’s no more than a criminal con masquerading as a home contractor. And he knows this. Do yourself and everyone else a favor to spread the word to get this fraud shut down for good. I’d gladly take the loss if it means he loses his livelihood and/or ends up in prison where he belongs. Don’t fret Kevin I’ll be visiting all your website reviews to expose you. Have a wonderful day.
The workers weren’t respectful of my property at all. My flowerbeds were trampled, and there was trash left everywhere. Plus, the roof looks sloppy—uneven edges and missing shingles. I expected more for the price they charged. So disappointed.
The worst roofing contractor I've dealt with. They overcharged me, and the roof looks like it was done in a rush. Not to mention, they left a ton of nails and trash all over my yard. Totally unprofessional. Never again.
Their attention to detail is seriously lacking. After the roof was done, I realized they damaged some of my siding and left debris behind. They refused to take responsibility and said it wasn’t their problem. Totally unprofessional.
