Ltc Electric is a Norwell electrician for the everyday call โ a stuck breaker, a dead switch, a full rewire after old DIY work goes wrong. The company says it's been family-owned and operated for 39 years, run by Thomas "Tom" Mccarthy. The clearest thread through its five-review Thumbtack history is showing up fast and finishing what's found: in an April 2024 review, a homeowner describes Tom taking on a complete rewire after uncovering safety problems from old DIY wiring, working through surprises along the way without cutting corners. Other customers, writing across 2023 and 2024, describe next-day visits for a timer switch and a failing floodlight, four light fixtures installed in about an hour, and same-day repairs โ each crediting him with explaining the work and giving a fair estimate on the spot. Those five accounts sit inside a 4.9-star average from 17 Thumbtack ratings, 94% of them five stars. Thumbtack also has him background-checked and named a 2024 Top Pro. For a specific electrical job โ a rewire, new outlets or fixtures, a breaker panel that needs attention โ he's shown a pattern of pricing the work up front before starting, worth asking about when you call.
Thomas was great. He was able to get in within 24 hours and installed 4 light fixtures for me in an about an hour. He was willing to adjust estimate to meet the need of the job and was fair in his assessment. I will definitely hire him again.
Highly recommend!! Our house needed a complete rewire after we discovered numerous safety concerns due to age and shoddy DIY workmanship and Tom did a fantastic job. Unexpected issues with the existing electrical cropped up throughout the project but Tom and his team took it all in stride and solved every problem without cutting any corners. Tom has proven to be extremely knowledgeable, skilled, and trustworthy and explained everything every step of the way. Will definitely be reaching out again for future projects!
Tom was really great to work with. He was very quick to respond and knew exactly how to address each of my electrical issues. I look forward to hiring Tom again when the time comes and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a skilled and very professional electrician.
Tom was great. He responded quickly, coming out the following day after we connected on Thumbtack. I needed him to install a programmable timer switch for some exterior lights, and also ended up replacing a motion-sensor floodlight while he was there. He explained his work well and made some recommendations on how to weatherproof the exterior light. We also asked for a quick consultation on another wiring/lighting project we had in mind, and he described how he would go about it, and gave a rough estimate. He was easy to talk to, friendly and professional. We'll definitely be using him for future electrical needs.
Tom responded quickly to my request and was able to provide same day service. Explained the problem to me and repaired it. Made sure everything was in tip top shape before he left. I will refer him to my family and friends.
