M&D's 23 1/2 Hour Oil & Gas Heating Services is called for oil heating equipment: boilers, oil burners and heating-system tune-ups. On Google it holds 2.3 stars from 6 ratings, and a recent customer there wrote "Terrible service." In a 2025 review, a customer said they called about a boiler issue on a Saturday night and were walked through a quick fix over FaceTime right away. A 2025 customer described father and son service people who had been out twice and were professional and competent both times. In a 2024 review, a customer said a tune-up left the heating system making a rumbling noise, and that he did not offer to locate the problem. That 2024 customer said a second HVAC company later found the wrong oil nozzles installed and areas covered in oil that should have been cleaned during the tune-up. A 2024 customer whose oil burner would not stay lit said he diagnosed and installed a new control, then charged far more than the prices the customer found from the manufacturer and a supply warehouse. That 2024 customer said part of the charge was refunded after they called him.
Terrible service
Called them for a boiler issue on a Saturday night, FaceTimed me right away and walked me through the quick and easy fix. Saved me so much time stress and money.
Great a father and son service people. They've been here twice now and we're professional and competent both times
Did a tune up on my heating system and system made a rumbling noise while he serviced it…I asked him what the noise was and he said it could be air in the oil line or a chimney issue (but didn’t offer to locate the problem). Somewhat surprised that he didn’t seem interested in solving the issue. After listening to an awful noise when the boiler fired up I called another hvac company and when they came out they said the wrong oil nozzles were installed and that there was areas that should have been cleaned during the annual tuneup that were covered in oil! So $245 later I learned a valuable lesson…
This guy needs to be taken out of business. My oil burner would not stay lit. We called him to provide a service call. He came and diagnosed that we needed a new hydrostate control. Ok sounds good. He finished and gave us the bill. Once he left, I did some research on the actual unit he installed. Researched using the exact model # on the unit. Price new was 200. He charged us 750 for the unit. So I went a step further and called the manufacturer and also supply warehouse just to verify price. All prices between 190 and 210. So I called him. He tried telling me hewould refund me 100-200 dollars to which I said absolutely not. Keep in mind my wife was the only one at home at install time. So he knew what he was doing. After a few back and forth he knew he was caught. He refunded me 450 dollars. No business would do that if they are being legit. I understand charging a bit more for the unit but 550 dollars more is stealing. He knew what he was doing and he got caught. Stay away from this business.
