One name runs through the reviews of M & H Interiors: Sheila. What clients hand her is the part of a renovation that eats people alive — the thousand choices. A homeowner writing in March 2025 had sold a 110-year-old Colonial, bought a new-construction condominium, and hired the firm to decorate every room, down to furniture, window treatments, wallpapering, art work and sculptures. The Reading, Massachusetts firm describes itself as an interior design and design/build practice managing residential and commercial projects from concept through installation. Its Houzz profile carries 21 posted projects and a Greater Boston and North Shore service area. The projects go well past decorating. In a May 2025 review, a couple described a full first-floor renovation taken down to the studs with the layout reimagined. A July 2024 client listed a gutted kitchen, a mudroom and a new laundry, with five rooms affected. A May 2024 homeowner came through a kitchen, mudroom and primary bathroom renovation together, and in an August 2023 review a mother and daughter had Sheila in on architectural review, layout planning, material and fixture selection and kitchen and bath planning for a modern renovation of a 1950s childhood home. Coordination is the other half of the work. A working mother writing in June 2025 wanted one person to design, make decisions and contact every vendor and contractor. A client on an addition in August 2024 said Sheila held everyone accountable and kept the project on budget and schedule. A November 2021 Houzz reviewer counted her attendance at weekly site meetings as the professional help they needed. Budget keeps surfacing: a July 2026 reviewer who has used her across several projects says she keeps budget in mind, and a June 2026 client said she stayed on task and on budget while merging their taste with the design. Her clients also lean on her bench. A March 2025 reviewer said everyone M&H introduced them to was an industry expert, and an April 2023 reviewer buying a new kitchen said she works with her own vendors and crew while guiding them through cabinetry, appliances and countertops. So the scope is the thing to nail down before you start: which rooms, whether she brings the trades or works with the contractor you already have, and how often she is on site once the work begins.
