M Kibbe Plumbing works out of Sturbridge, and the company says it handles residential, commercial and industrial plumbing and heating, from water heaters and sewer lines to ductless mini splits and heating repairs. It says it has been in business for 23 years. When a boiler valve blew and flooded a basement on a weekend, a customer said Matt answered while grocery shopping, came over within the hour, fixed the valve and installed a new expansion tank. A customer who had been quoted a high number by another company to replace a water heater said Matt assessed it, ordered a replacement part and fixed it for a fraction of the cost. A 2025 customer whose furnace kept shutting down after 10 seconds said Matt explained the issue, and that a previous HVAC provider had charged multiple times what Matt quoted. A 2025 reviewer wrote that M. Kibbe came in the same day to fix an old boiler and found the price fair. A 2025 customer who called about a broken water heater said the job was done a few hours later. A 2024 customer said Matt had repaired and reworked their entire HVAC system, cleaned a tankless water heater and installed kitchen faucets, shower heads and a kitchen water filtration system. A 2025 reviewer said Matt was the go-to person for repairs in the commercial building they managed. On Google it holds 4.9 stars from 31 ratings, HomeAdvisor shows 5.0 from 24, and its BBB grade is A-. In a recent 1-star Google review, a customer said they paid $185 for a look at a hidden plumbing leak, that he failed to show up for the agreed 9-10 AM repair appointment, and that he then sent an insulting text when asked if he was still coming.
“G&L terminated Kibbe in April 2023, sued in May 2023 asserting DTSA, MUTSA, conversion and other claims, and moved for a preliminary injunction on June 12, 2023”
Matt is the type of plumber that everyone is trying to find. Competent, punctual, honest, does the work the job requires without trying to take you for a ride. Initially we were quoted a crazy high number by another company to replace the water heater, we called Matt for a second opinion. He came, assessed that the situation, ordered a replacement part, and fixed it for a fraction of the cost. Hot water is back on, He is a hero. Highly recommend!!!
Five stars for Matt! He was recommended to us by our neighbor and he completely exceeded expectations. He fixed a water issue that saved us thousands on a basement rebuild project we thought we needed. Matt was professional, personable, and took the time to clearly explain both the problem and his solution. My wife and I couldnt be happier with his work and highly recommend Matt! Shrewsbury, M.A.
Extremely unprofessional and offensive experience. I paid this business $185 just to look at a hidden plumbing leak. We agreed on a repair appointment between 9-10 AM. Not only did he completely fail to show up, but when I texted him to ask if he was still coming, he sent an insulting text message accusing me of not being sober, claiming it was a 'liability.' I am a local resident dealing with a serious household issue, and being insulted by a contractor I already paid is unacceptable. Do not trust your home or your money to this business. Save your time and call a professional who respects their customers. Ryan at Latour Plumbing is an absolute lifesaver! I called him after another contractor took my money and completely flaked on an urgent hidden pipe leak that was spiking my water bill. Ryan went completely out of his way to show up early on a Sunday morning before his regular shift even started. He located the problem instantly and fixed the leak in two seconds. He only charged me $125 and explicitly waived the emergency weekend fees just because I am a local resident. Honest, incredibly fast, polite, and truly cares about the community. If you need a plumber in the area, do not hesitate to call Ryan at Latour Plumbing. Highest possible recommendation!
Boiler valve blew flooding my basement on the weekend. Called M Kibbie, Matt answered while grocery shopping. Came over within the hour and fixed the valve and installed a new expansion tank. Very reasonable prices even with the emergency response on a weekend. Very professional and knowledgeable. Will most certainly use him on future projects/ issues.
Matt and his team were outstanding. Polite, clean, efficient and extremely knowledgeable. The service they provided at my home is hard to find in a contractor these days. So happy with the job.
