MacDonald Renovation is a Saugus kitchen and bath remodeler that also builds its own cabinetry — custom kitchen cabinets, walk-in closets, and refacing, painting and refinishing of existing cabinets. The company says it has been at this for over 30 years and that the work comes largely through repeat business and referrals. Its Houzz portfolio is small but local: kitchens in Swampscott and Charlestown, bathrooms in Swampscott and Marblehead, with a stated service area covering about seventeen North Shore towns from Saugus out to Beverly and Marblehead. What there isn't is a customer voice. The Houzz profile carries no reviews, and nothing turned up on the other directories — the similarly named MacDonald Renovation on HomeAdvisor is a different company in Highland Park, Illinois, and its ratings do not belong here. Houzz lists licence number CS056432, which is the directory's listing rather than something confirmed against the state registry. In Massachusetts a construction supervisor licence and home improvement contractor registration are separate things, and a full kitchen or bath remodel generally wants both. So: a long-established local shop for a cabinet-led kitchen or bath, but you will be judging it on a conversation, the portfolio and references rather than on any written track record. Ask for the licence and HIC registration numbers, and for two or three recent clients in your town you can call.
