Mantis Pest Control LLC

A yellow jacket hive posted on a Sunday evening got a call back within minutes and an 8am Monday arrival, according to a July 2024 review. Another customer that month, allergic to bees and finding them in the siding, wrote that Steve came right over, checked out the entire area, treated it and gave instructions — with a bill they called reasonable and a six-month guarantee. Mantis Pest Control is a Lowell outfit handling ants, bedbugs, bird mites, cockroaches, rodents, mosquitoes, ticks and wasps for homes and businesses, with one-time or scheduled treatments, free estimates, 24/7 emergency service and a 10% military and senior discount. Its site describes a family business that has been ridding local properties of pests since 2013, and lists License #35638. The BBB grades it A+. The harder jobs are where the detail sits. In a March 2025 review, a customer described a chronic bedbug problem resolved with the minimum amount of product, the bugs gone for three and a half months at the time of writing. A March 2024 reviewer said Steve solved a mouse issue multiple other vendors could not crack, and a February 2024 household that started with a few mouse droppings had the place treated in a way they were comfortable with given their kids and pets. In an August 2023 review, a large swarm over a parking lot turned out to be honeybees at a rest stop looking for a new home, expected to move on in a few hours. Steve is the one who shows up in each of those accounts; two 2022 reviewers name him as the owner, Steve Burke. Price comes up often, and mostly well — several reviewers call it reasonable, one noting a senior discount applied. In a September 2025 r/lowellma thread, a commenter who has had Mantis solve pest issues wrote that their prices are always the best. The exception is the bedbug work: the March 2025 customer who got that infestation cleared said plainly that the service was not cheap. Guarantees come up too. The July 2024 bee treatment carried a six-month guarantee, and a September 2023 wasp customer wrote that he promised to come back for any others at no additional charge. For wasps in the siding, mice in the walls, or a bedbug job another company has not cracked, this is a Lowell shop where Steve and a small crew do the work and get back to you fast. Ask what the guarantee covers and how long it runs for your particular pest, and if it is bedbugs, get the full treatment price up front.
