Bathrooms are what people call Mariner Construction about — a new bathroom, a gut-and-replace shower, a bathroom put back together after a pipe burst. The Acton company is run by Joe Maletti, who its site says founded it after years in marine construction, and his name shows up in most of the reviews. The work runs wider than bathrooms, though: a finished basement, bay windows, a custom mudroom and pantry, a front porch. The written history reaches back to 2017 and runs through 2026, and the Google average sits at 4.7 across 14 ratings. In a March 2026 review, a homeowner described a new bathroom for which Joe brought in subcontractors to handle the tiling and glass. A February 2026 customer whose bathroom was ruined by a burst pipe wrote that he "relentlessly fought on my behalf for months" with their insurance company for a fair claim. Older houses come up more than once. In April 2025, a homeowner with a 200-year-old house had two showers fully rebuilt and remodeled, and said the crew worked through the problems that kind of house creates. Several customers have come back for more: one wrote in May 2025 about a kitchen, a butler's pantry and a master bath, plus a quick response when a water leak gutted a home office, and a March 2025 review lists four separate jobs — a window replaced with a slider and stairs, a custom mudroom and pantry build, a bay window, and a new front porch. The sharp exception is a one-star review from March 2023. That customer says Mariner agreed to the job, left the product to be installed sitting in their living room for months, never returned calls and never came back, and they hired someone else who cost less and answered. Every written review after it, through 2026, is a five-star account. The company's Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration is active with the state under Mariner Construction LLC. Its directory profiles, though, do not line up with each other: Angi and HomeAdvisor state nine years of experience on pages whose own About text claims over 15 years in Massachusetts, and both list the services as flooring and painting, which is not the work the reviews describe. A bathroom gut, a shower rebuild, an old house that needs someone who has worked on one — that is where these customers put Mariner.
