The tell with Colm McCann is what he does after the job he was hired for. One homeowner's roof vent turned out to be unsealed, so he flagged it and sealed it. Another had drain pipes sorted out alongside a deck repair. A third was told that a previous gutter cleaner had left clogs in the downspouts. Nobody asked for any of it. McCann Gutters and Carpentry works out of 45 Georgia Road in Weymouth, and BBB lists it as a one-person operation managed by Colm McCann. Gutters are the centre of gravity — seamless metal gutter repair is by far the most-reviewed service — with carpentry, trim, decks, roof repairs and small handyman jobs around it. Angi and HomeAdvisor both note free estimates, warranties and emergency call-outs. Across three platforms, 22 reviews since 2020, and not one is negative. Angi and HomeAdvisor publish the same seventeen at 4.9; Thumbtack shows 4.8. The dollar figures are modest — $600 for a deck repair, $650 and $1,550 for gutter work, $2,600 for a job one 2020 customer summed up as "quick, reliable, professional, and painless." The fullest account, written in 2021, runs through a flat rubber roof, replaced cedar shingles, new flashing and a custom rounded gutter, then lands on what clearly mattered most to that homeowner: he said what needed doing now and what could wait. A 2023 gutter customer noted the new system came with a warranty and was laid out to push water away from the house and garage. Two things to weigh. Most of this history is old — seventeen of the twenty-two were written in 2020 and 2021, when he was newly out on his own, and the pace since has been a few a year. The most recent, from March 2026, covers a porch ceiling, replacement back-deck stairs and a water-damaged interior ceiling, and is still five stars. BBB, meanwhile, grades him A- and gives the reason plainly: length of time the business has been operating. Its file only opened in November 2025. The nearest thing to a complaint in six years came in 2020, from someone who said the job took a bit of time to finish but was happy with how it came out. For gutter repair or replacement, or small-to-mid carpentry around Weymouth and the South Shore, this is a one-man shop with a clean run and a habit of telling people what they do not need. Pin the scope down in writing and ask how his schedule looks — one pair of hands only stretches so far.
Colm did an amazing job. He fixed a porch ceiling, replaced severa stairs leading up to my back deck, and he aslo replaced apart of the inside home ceiling that had water damage. He did great work! Was very punctual and he did everything at a fair price. I stronglt recommend him for your future house needs.
The job was well done and the team cleaned up their detritus.
Colm was intuitive as to what was needed to correct our issues and a very hard worker. Very satisfied.
Great service. Fair price and well done
I just got my gutters done and they did pan excellent job. It was a slow season so they got the job done rather swiftly with more person power. My gutters look amazing a d they come with a warranty. They also made sure to do the best possible system to keep water away from my home and garage. Thank you!
