Mercy Painting has been painting and repairing homes around Boston since 2007, and the one thing that turns up in review after review is documentation: customers describe getting an update, often with photos, at the end of nearly every workday, whether the crew is two rooms into a paint job or three weeks into gutting a bedroom in a house built in 1832. The company is run by Erick (also spelled Eric and Erik across platforms) and, by its own account, is a family business based in Everett that has worked the Suffolk, Norfolk, Middlesex and Essex county area since 2007. The numbers back up how steady that reputation has stayed: 27 Google ratings averaging 4.9, 16 on Angi at a full 5.0, and 115 on HomeAdvisor at 4.9, spanning 45 reviews from 2021 through 2026 across six sources. The last six months alone brought 10 more reviews, none of them negative. What separates Mercy from a straight paint-and-go outfit is how often the actual work goes past the walls. Customers hire the crew for drywall and plaster repair alongside painting, patching water-damaged ceilings, reframing closet doors, hanging new doors and moldings, and a few describe considerably bigger scopes: a full first-floor renovation that added a bathroom and reworked the kitchen, sunroom, foyer and stairwell, and a from-the-studs bedroom rebuild in that 1832 house, done in a week. More than one reviewer specifically credits the crew with handling the quirks of century-old construction without losing the house's original character. Not every account is glowing. A review posted in December 2025 said the paint job itself was fine but described a tense confrontation when the customer tried to inspect the finished work — the reviewer called the response "weird" and said it escalated to threats of legal action over basic questions. It's a notably different tone from the rest of the record and worth asking about directly. The company's Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration (license 209759) is currently active in the state registry. Anyone hiring Mercy for a standard paint job will find plenty of recent, consistent company. Anyone hiring for something bigger — a drywall repair, a small addition, a full room gut — should ask to see photos from a similarly scoped past project, since that side of the business shows up in the reviews more than in the marketing. Given how many reviewers mention calling Erick back for a second or third job, get the scope and price in writing before the crew starts, and don't skip the final walkthrough.
Very professional and timely.
It is without prompting that I post this review of Eric and his team. I. Have had the pleasure of having Eric paint my property in Boston and his work is just fabulous. Timely, in accordance with his quote and perfectly executed. It is without reservation that I can recommend his company! And I’m pretty exacting when it comes to expectations. Rick T
Erick was great to work with on my condo. The quality of his work speaks for itself — clean, thorough, and done right the first time. He's very responsive, easy to get a hold of, and consistently goes above and beyond to make sure everything is handled properly.I really appreciate his work ethic and the pride he takes in what he does. Will definitely be calling him again.
Erick is a consummate professional: he takes pride in his craftsmanship, is unfailingly polite, and exemplary in his communication. Each day, he would make sure I knew when he would arrive, and at the end of the day, he would send me a progress report with pictures. Even though I did not ask, he power-washed my deck and replaced a broken vent flap, which was greatly appreciated. I will think of Erick for all future painting projects and refer him to friends and family members.
Erick is the best He is a magician with a paint brush Always on time Communicates exceptionally well Price is more than reasonable Goes above and beyond the task at hand He just is a very nice person Would definitely work with him again
