Those are the directory's own entries rather than checks against the state registers, and a directory disagreeing with itself about one licence number is a reason to ask, not to assume. No customer has written about him on BuildZoom, so nothing here speaks to how any of those jobs actually went. If the work you have in mind is a bathroom gut or a similar single-room renovation, he has done that kind of job repeatedly. Get the CS and HIC numbers from him in writing, check both yourself with the Department of Public Safety and the Office of Consumer Affairs, and ask for the addresses of the recent Brookline jobs so you can talk to those owners.
