In July 2026, a customer called Mike Medzhidov about an electrical fault and got an honest assessment along with the advice that the problem was likely the utility company's to fix. They wrote that they would hire him for other electrical work anyway. Mike runs Electrical Solutions, a sole proprietorship, with an assistant or two on the bigger jobs: residential and light commercial work, from wiring and panel upgrades to switches, outlets, fixtures, security systems and generators. The Better Business Bureau lists the business at a Melrose address with an A+ grade and says it started in 2000; the Angi, HomeAdvisor and Thumbtack profiles list him in Methuen. Twenty of the twenty-nine written reviews mention some form of speed. In March 2020, a customer had four smoke detectors replaced within a day of asking, the whole job done in under an hour. An October 2021 Thumbtack reviewer got a quote inside 24 hours and the work finished in less than a week. When breakers kept tripping — the fridge among them — an April 2025 customer said Mike was in touch early that morning and the problem was solved within hours. The jobs themselves run small to substantial. A chandelier and a light fixture in March 2023, fitted by his electrician Max; replacement fixtures, repaired outlets and Blink doorbells for a January 2023 customer with a long list of small repairs; an EV charger and a transfer switch in May 2022, so the car's battery could run the house during an outage. In August 2024, his team chased broken wires into a crawlspace to repair circuits, replace faulty switches and fix an exterior security light. A July 2025 customer had outlets rewired and replaced through the house, with new lighting, outlets and switches installed in a finished attic. Price and quote line up in the accounts that mention them: an August 2022 reviewer said the quote was reasonable and matched the expected price, and an October 2022 landlord said everything discussed on the quote was done, with his tenants treated well in the process. The one caution comes from that January 2023 customer, who ended a run of praise with a warning that Mike is busy, so plan ahead. HomeAdvisor lists trade licence #51674 for him, and Thumbtack lists a Massachusetts journeyman electrician licence — check the number on the state register before work that needs a permit. For a tripping breaker, a fixture to hang, an EV charger to add or a panel to upgrade, he is an easy call: book early, and get the scope written into the quote, because the quote is what customers say he works to.
Mike was responsive and professional. He gave us an honest assessment of the issue we had, and some sound advice on repairs that he correctly said was likely the utility company's responsibility. I'd hire Mike again for other electrical work, thanks!
Mike was professional from the start. He responded to my question effectively and I decided to hire him to install a bathroom fan that also needed to be invented outside my house. He showed up at my house at the time we designated and kept me updated with texts and photos as he proceeded with the work. Couldn't be happier.
i've worked with Mike on several occasions now and am happy to say that Electrical Solutions provides friendly, professional, courteous service at very reasonable prices. highly recommended!
Prompt response.
I have worked with Mike M a few times over the past 5 years. He is always communicative, prompt, and professional. His prices are fair. A couple times he has come out quickly when the need was urgent. Highly recommend!
