Miner Discount Fuel is a heating-oil dealer whose own website names Westerly as its service area. One recent customer said they rely on it, named Lori and Rob as pleasant to talk to, and said its delivery people brought heating oil during terrible winter weather. On Google it holds 4.6 stars from 160 ratings, and its BBB grade is A+. A recent customer who had used A & B Oil for over 35 years said that company sold out to Miner, and that the service and people at Miner were just as good. A 2026 customer on automatic delivery said it eased their mind about running out of oil. A 2025 customer who let their oil tank run empty said the company was right out to keep them warm. A 2024 customer said deliveries came within 2 days of an order. On Reddit, a 2025 commenter said they use Miner Fuel and order through its online form. The phone is where things went wrong for some callers. A recent caller asking about prices on behalf of an elderly patient said the woman who answered cut them off and was rude. A recent reviewer said the woman on the phone was not nice when asked about prices and that its prices were higher than some others. A 2025 customer on automatic delivery who ran out of oil said the tank was filled after dark and could not be primed, and that the woman who took the next call was rude and hung up. A 2025 reviewer who forgot to order while in the hospital said they were told a delivery could not happen for over a week.
“I use Miner Fuel but I'm in the south so A star doesn't deliver. They have an online form you can order from”
“I paid $2.90 cash on Jan 14 to Miners in Westerly.”
Just called to get oil prices for my elderly patient. Woman on the phone was very rude and abrupt, she stopped me before I even finished my first sentence, I said hi this is (Steph) im calling on behalf of my patient, she cut me off and said "did you hear how I answered the phone?" I said no, I thought maybe she said "Miner fuel please hold" and I didnt hear her and maybe kept talking. She said this is Miner Fuel, we deliver oil, do you have a house that needs oil?!?! I said yes thats why im calling, but not anymore after that attitude. I cant imagine my elderly wheelchair bound patient trying to get oil in the dead of winter and have to deal with sass. I was calling to get quotes for her because she cant do it herself, had the woman not cut me off let me finish my sentence and not spoke over me she would have heard that I was calling for quotes for my patient. Very rude, that was wild. If thats how you treat customers up front, I cant imaging the ongoing service is better.
