MK Renovation

The thing that keeps showing up in MK Renovation's reviews is the second phone call. One customer hired the crew to repair and add crown molding, then brought them back to replace a few doors and put in a new kitchen floor — the old vinyl out, porcelain tile in. Another started with drywall in February 2026 and had them return for an etched glass door and a 4x4 bathroom tile job. A third says they have been using the company for over three years, for everything from building furniture to hanging shelves and art. The company works out of 55 Ridge Ln in Waltham and describes itself as family-owned, handling bathroom and full-home remodels, basement finishing, decks and finish carpentry across Greater Boston. Several reviewers name Max; a May 2026 customer worked with Gregorii on blinds, moving furniture and snaking drains. On Thumbtack the profile holds 4.9 stars from 26 ratings — 96% of them five-star, one at two stars — with Top Pro status for 2025 and 27 jobs hired through the page. Bathrooms account for several of the recent write-ups: a full renovation described in an April 2026 review as clean and on time, and plaster, fresh paint and new baseboard in a May 2026 bathroom. Smaller work fills in the rest — a front door awning, a door reframed in October 2025, a front hallway tiled in June 2025. On Reddit's r/boston in August 2026, a commenter said Max closed up their basement ceiling and painted the walls and floor. Two things to pin down before you sign. Thumbtack's page gives two different tenures — four years in its overview, more than ten in its FAQ answer — against the nine-plus the company's own site advertises, so ask which it is. And the background check on that profile, completed 8/8/2024, is recorded under the name Sergei Mikushin rather than the Max named in the reviews, so ask who will run your job and whose name goes on the contract. For a bathroom renovation, tile, or the run of carpentry, drywall and odd jobs a Greater Boston house throws off, this is a crew people call back. Get the scope, the schedule and the price in writing, and ask for the home improvement contractor registration and a certificate of insurance before anyone starts.
