The line that repeats across six years of MMP reviews is unglamorous and decisive: Matt called back. A December 2018 client who needed a small roof area repaired wrote that other companies replied they were too busy, and that Matt contacted them promptly, scheduled a site visit and quoted. In May 2019 a buyer whose home inspector had flagged the attic joists called three contractors and got one same-day callback, from Matt. In November 2018 another, replacing aged entryway stairs and porches, noted he showed up exactly when he said he would. MMP is a Lowell general contractor built around roofing and renovation. BuildZoom's permit file runs to 97 jobs, nearly all in Lowell: three strip-and-reroof jobs in 2024, deck and porch construction with roofing over multi-family units, a kitchen and dining-room gut remodel with a new beam in Westford in 2019, and a $172,500 attached garage with a mudroom and an ADU above it in 2025 that turned a single-family into a two-family. Eleven of those permits fall in the past three years, and the typical one is valued around $15,000. On HomeAdvisor the company holds 4.7 across 191 ratings — 84% five-star, with 10% sitting at three stars or below. The 25 readable accounts run November 2016 to November 2022, so the written detail is dated even where the permit work is not, and what survives in them cuts both ways. A January 2017 reviewer's shingles blew off five months after the job; MMP came out the next day and reattached them at no new charge. A November 2016 reviewer gave three stars because the crew arrived without a ladder long enough to reach the roof. A June 2017 client had to call them back for an area that had been missed, and thought a quote to remove a barn was far too high. Two housekeeping items before you sign. The Houzz profile gives the business name as MMP Construction Inc while the copy beneath it says MMP Construction LLC three times — different corporate forms, worth clarifying on the contract. And the tenure figures do not agree: HomeAdvisor's highlights state 22 years, BuildZoom's generated blurb 16. BuildZoom lists a Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, #176840, issued 10 October 2025 and recorded active in April 2026, and the company advertises a self-declared five-year workmanship warranty. Get both in writing. For a reroof, a porch, or an addition around Lowell, the depth is real — 191 ratings and a permit file still moving. Ask for two references from the last year, since the written accounts stop in 2022.

We needed a skylight installed in our bathroom, and MMP did an excellent job--we are very happy with it! The team was friendly and worked quickly and efficiently to get it done before it got dark, and the quality of their work was excellent. Matt was very friendly and nice to communicate with as well, and always responded right away. I highly recommend MMP Construction to anyone looking for great quality work and excellent customer service.

This is the second time we have used MMP Construction for a large-scale renovation and both times, we were thrilled with the results and with the service level. Matt (the owner) is friendly, fair, and quick to communicate. I would (and do!) recommend MMP for any renovation you plan to undertake.

What does a roof replacement cost in Greater Boston?

Typical Greater Boston range for this kind of work, from regional averages — not a quote from MMP Construction Inc. Use it to sanity-check bids, then get the real number in writing.

A square is 100 sq ft of roof surface — bigger than the floor plan because of pitch and overhangs.

Estimated range

$9,000 – $18,600

Typical roofing project around $13,800
