Mr. Handyman of Greater Newton is a franchise location based in Auburndale that homeowners call for the accumulated list of small-to-medium repairs around the house — furniture assembly, window and screen fixes, deck and fence repairs, drywall and cabinet work, and occasional plumbing and electrical fixes like a burst kitchen pipe or a tripped GFI outlet. Recent reviews from the first half of 2026 describe the same handful of technicians — Lee, Charlie, Kevin, Martin, and Tom — arriving on time and working through long punch lists in a single visit. One homeowner had eight doors sawed down to fit new carpet along with blackout blinds hung, tile regrouted, and a glass shower door resealed, all before a baby's due date. Another needed a dozen window screens sorted out along with a tripped GFI circuit, finished within an hour. A third had a burst kitchen pipe replaced, with the technician cleaning up and putting the kitchen back together "better than before." Reviewers repeatedly note technicians tidying the work area before leaving, and in a few cases catching problems beyond the original request. Worth asking about before booking: even among five-star reviews, a recurring note is that pricing runs higher than some customers expected for the scope of the job, with one reviewer suggesting rates should scale down for smaller tasks. Separately, one 2026 review described a rough visit — a technician who made repeated trips back to his van and a dispute over billed time — while still conceding the finished work itself was fine. For someone in the Newton/Auburndale area who wants one call to knock out a stacked list of odd jobs rather than a specialist for a single big project, this is a long-running, heavily reviewed option with technicians who consistently show up and finish what they start; it's worth getting a clear price up front for anything beyond a quick fix.

Lee was excellent! He was able to fix our deck and make it safe again! He fixed multiple things around our house and did general mounting as well as furniture assembly! He was very professional! I would definitely hire him again!

Kevin came and put up a screen to keep birds out of our exhaust vent. We live on the second floor so it wasn’t the easiest job but he was quick, efficient, and it looks great.

Lee and Charles came over today to fix a number of things in our home before our baby comes in 3 weeks. They were friendly and eager to help out in any way, even when I added on tasks the day of to an already long list of tasks. They sawed down 8 doors to fit our new carpet, hung black out blinds, regrouted bathroom tiles, hung artwork, resealed a glass bathroom door, hung a cuckoo clock…among some other things. I was very impressed with their work and their interpersonal style. We will be happy to have them do any other work in the future. Many thanks!

Lee was amazing! I am ok handy but couldn't get screens installed. He sorted out a dozen screens and got them in amazingly quick. Also figured out what was wrong with an outlet... a GFI circuit popped! Measured all my missing screens which I will need to replace later but was in and out in an hour.
