Across 22 Google reviews dating back to 2023, the same names keep showing up — Derek, and often Adrienne alongside him — for jobs ranging from a bedroom ceiling fan to a full 200-amp service upgrade with a standby generator and whole-house transfer switch, described in an October 2025 review. Reviewers repeatedly note that the quoted estimate held as the final price and that Derek showed up when he said he would, even when a job turned out more involved than it first looked. One customer's power went out in a storm on a Sunday, and Derek came out the same day to restore it; another says he fixed an incoming-service problem that National Grid had been unable to solve for two months. A February 2026 review describes a quick, clean install of fire and carbon monoxide detectors. The one sour note is recent: a September 2026 review from the owner of a circa-1800 home says the estimated cost ran well past $7,000, that the job could not be completed, and that Murphy Electric kept nearly $2,000 of the deposit for the attempted work rather than refunding it. It's worth asking directly how pricing and refunds are handled if a job on an older or unusual property turns out to need more than planned. For routine and larger residential electrical work — panel upgrades, generator hookups, lighting and fixture installs — the reviews describe a responsive, on-time operation. Anyone with an older home should talk through scope and pricing up front before putting down a deposit.
