Highlights
- Warranty not checked — pushed $2,800 replacement for a water heater under warranty
- Thin review history — only two Google ratings, both very low
Nelson Gagnon Plumbing Heating, a plumbing and heating outfit at 15 Elliott Street in Beverly, carries a 1-star average on Google — from just two ratings, but the one detailed account behind that number is hard to dismiss. That review, posted in March 2026, describes a call about a water heater still covered by its manufacturer's warranty. Instead of checking the warranty, the customer says the company pushed straight for a full replacement, quoting $2,800 for a unit that typically sells for around $600, without looking into the actual problem first. Beyond that one review, what's known about the business mostly comes from directory listings rather than customers: its own site promises plumbing work you can trust, and other listings describe a specialist in sinks, faucets, toilets, and garbage disposals, plus some heating and climate-control jobs. None of that comes from a customer, and with only two ratings total, it's hard to say how representative the one bad experience is — but it's also the only firsthand account available right now. Given the warranty complaint, it's worth asking directly, before any work starts, whether they'll check manufacturer coverage before quoting a replacement, and getting a written, itemized estimate up front.

Horrendous experience....

I wish there were an option to give less than one star. I contacted this company regarding my water heater, which was installed in 2020 and still carries an active manufacturer warranty. Instead of even attempting to check the warranty or assist with the issue, they immediately pushed for a full replacement.
After I provided the make, model, and serial number of the unit, they called back with a quote of $2,800 to replace the water heater — a unit that typically retails for around $600. There was no attempt to look deeper into the problem, explore warranty options, or provide a reasonable explanation for the pricing.
The entire interaction felt rushed and dismissive, as if the goal was simply to sell a new unit rather than help the customer. I expected a professional plumbing company to at least investigate a warranty claim before recommending an expensive replacement. Very disappointing experience.

Price gauging seems to be new business order for the company who in my opinion should be stripped by their license and all privileges to exist as a plumbing company.

One of the worst experience of my life. New toilet installed in June of 2022. Had to call them as the plugger was not working after a month. The other day the toilet was moving around and I called them right away. They said they would be there the next day and of course they never showed. I was then told they had me on the call sheet for Friday. They never showed or called. I am wondering if they put in a used toilet. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
