That gap is the most useful thing to know about Nena Construction: it is a company whose work shows up in municipal permit records again and again, and whose customers have left no public trace at all. BuildZoom files it as a carpenter and, reading its permit history, says it mostly does door and window installation. The pattern backs that up. The permit trail is windows, doors, sliders and cedar shingle siding, including the kind of multi-building programmes that take weeks — common entry doors across a Framingham condominium complex, a large window and slider replacement at a Plymouth elderly-housing property, and window-and-shingle work on multiple buildings in Methuen. It has pulled 28 permits in the last three years alone, with a typical permit valued around $14,940 and a spread running from $5,000 jobs up past $50,000. A lot of that is commercial or multi-family rather than single-family, which matters if you are a homeowner: this is a crew used to volume window-and-door work on apartment buildings, and the residential permits are the smaller share. Worth asking whether your job is the kind they normally take. The licensing line needs care. BuildZoom's page states that it checked in March 2024 and that this contractor 'does not need a license to be a carpenter in Massachusetts' — while the same page also displays a 'Verified License MA' badge, and its own guidance notes that structural work requires a licensed construction supervisor and that nonstructural residential home improvement work requires registration with the Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation. Nothing here was checked against the state registry, so treat all of it as the directory talking. Ask for the company's construction supervisor licence and home improvement contractor registration numbers and verify them with the state yourself. One more thing: a separate Nena Construction, Inc. trades in Warwick, Rhode Island under a different owner and a Rhode Island registration. Make sure you are talking to the Massachusetts company. A reasonable call for window and door replacement at scale, where a documented permit history counts for more than star ratings. If you want to hear from past customers first, you will have to ask them for references directly — there are none published.
