Last week I attended the Japanese woodworking bootcamp at wabi sabi school for Japanese crafts. Jason, the head instructor, and his apprentices were amazing. Step by step Instructions were extremely detailed. While some tasks had time limits, rest of the practices were designed in a way for participants to try and learn in their own pace. Jason did a great job making us understand that failing is the process of learning any craft, in this case woodworking, and more exposure to the craft is the only way to get better at it. The apprentices deserve their own praises. They were knowledgeable, approachable, and very friendly. They made us feel at home. Me and my wife camped in the property which is absolutely beautiful. The outdoor shower is the best outdoor shower I have ever seen and the hot tub is amazing for cool Maine nights. I wish there was composting toilets instead of the porta potties. Finally, there were 14 of us participating in the bootcamp. People from all over America, Texas, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Virginia, New Hampshire, New York and more. It was refreshing to meet, and talk to all these people from different places, with different backgrounds, at a time everyone and every place seems divided. We were united for a week no matter what our political opinions or religious beliefs were, and it was absolutely beautiful.
Great solid, detailed, instruction. Jason and his crew were patient and knowledgeable. Well worth the time. A great experience with dedicated classmates who brought richness to the atmosphere.
Took a 6 day bootcamp class at Jason’s Wabi Sabi school, was a great experience. Had a good time, learned stuff, honed my skills, camped out back with campfires. I’d definitely do another class, and may attend the festival. Thanks Jason!

I had such a great time being part of the pizza shrine build down in Millbrook. Jason and his cadre are a great group of teachers. Can't wait to come back for the festival!
