New England Boiler Works says on its website that it works on more than 400 boilers a year and brings more than 30 years of boiler experience, and it lists oil-to-gas conversions and water heater upgrades, repairs and replacements. On Google it holds 4.8 stars from 71 ratings. A recent Google customer who woke up with no hot water says Steve came out on a Monday for the estimate and did the work on a Wednesday with his co-worker Nate. That customer says they took the old system out, disposed of everything, put the new system in with all new piping and had it up and going after lunch. A recent customer who converted two houses from oil to gas says Steve and Nate walked them through the entire process and helped pick the right system, even though the gas company changed the gas line install date multiple times. A recent customer says Steve made tearing out their old system and installing a new boiler and water tank as stress free as possible, and that two days after installation they ran hot water for 6 hours to heat a water slide for the kids. A 2020 HomeAdvisor customer said Steve gave a price on the spot, and that they removed the old oil furnace and oil tank and put a new gas system in before 1:00 pm. A 2017 HomeAdvisor customer said Steve took care of a conversion from oil to gas, including submitting paperwork for a rebate. A 2024 HomeAdvisor customer said a boiler install went fine, but a year and a half later, still within the warranty time, they woke up with no heat, called Steve, left a message and did not hear back from him.
New England Boiler Works was recommended to us by our plumber, to replace our heating system after we woke up with no hot water. Steve came out on a Monday to give us the estimate and did the work on a Wednesday with his co-worker Nate. Exceptional work done in a reasonable time frame, half a day. They took the old system out and disposed of everything, put the new system in, with all new piping and had it up and going after lunch! I would highly recommend them to anyone
We were in need of 2 new systems for 2 separate houses and decided to convert from oil to gas. New England Boiler works was recommended to me by a friend whom had a great experience with them. Steve and Nate walked me through the entire processs. They helped me pick the right system for our needs. Even though the timeline was short, we had a holiday weekend and the gas company changed the gas line install date multiple times, Steve and Nate were both easy to communicate with, available when we needed them, and went above and beyond to make the install happen so we could have hot water for the summer!!! I can’t say enough good things about the experience we had with them!! Thanks for all your help!!!
I couldn’t be happier with the service I received from NEBOILERWORKS! Steve was professional, dependable, and extremely knowledgeable throughout the entire process. He took the time to explain everything clearly, made sure the job was done right, and delivered excellent workmanship. I was also very impressed with the price. The service was reasonably priced and felt like a great value for the quality of work and professionalism provided. It’s not often you find someone who combines great service, quality work, and fair pricing all in one. I would highly recommend NEBOILERWORKS to anyone looking for someone they can trust. Fantastic job, Steve — thank you for everything! Five stars all the way!
We could not be happier with our experience with New England Boiler Works. Steve made the process of tearing out our old system and installing a new boiler and water tank as stress free as possible. He was undaunted by the special issues our set up presented. Two days after installation we ran our hot water for 6 hours to heat a Hugh water slide for the kids ! We couldn’t have done it without the quick install by N E Boiler !!
CAUTION! INSTALL FINE, BUT BEWARE IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM, EVEN WITH WARRANTY. After a successful boiler install by New England Boiler, we found ourselves a year and a half later waking up one late winter Saturday with no heat. Still well within the warranty time, we called Steve and left a message about our problem. We did not hear back from him and although we were cold, gave him the benefit of the doubt that it was the weekend so waited in the cold until Monday. Called again Monday and did not receive a call that day. We finally called around to find a company that could help us immediately and indeed there was a large problem with the boiler itself that cost us $2500... and our warranty was not with this new company. By the end of the entire week we had still never heard back from Steve. When we finally got him, he admitted that he had been on vacation. Our original message was left on his work phone and there was no mention that he would not respond to calls. After we explained what happened, his first response was that we had overpaid to have it fixed (lol - as opposed to having it covered under the warranty he provided but was not available to service?) then told us he would have to come look at it and would call to set up a time. He never did. We called again numerous times, finally got him at one point and he said that he would see if his insurance would cover it. Again, he never called back. We were always polite and goal oriented, just wanting to find a resolution to the problem that he was unavailable to fix our warrantied boiler and left us no choice for repair when we were out heat while he vacationed. After several months of calls and letters, we sent a final certified letter offering to meet him at a refund of $1000 - $1500 less than we paid - just to move on and not feel we had been completely screwed over. Still, no response. So are now going to file in small claims court for the $2500 we are out on our New England Boiler installed and warrantied boiler. I promise you that we have been professional, patient, and interested in resolution only. He has literally ignored us for months. My advice after having been told now by many people - try Atlantic for reasonable price and excellent service.
