Two homeowners writing in 2024 open their reviews the same way: they could not get a contractor to call them back or send a quote at all. One says Francois Exilhomme came back with multiple quotes within two weeks. New England Construction and Properties is his company — family-owned, describing itself as a Certified Minority Business Enterprise, and working across Greater Boston from Cambridge and Somerville out to Quincy, Braintree and Randolph. The jobs customers describe are whole-room and whole-house. A February 2025 reviewer handed over a loose collection of ideas for a kitchen, dining room and half bath and got a remodel out of it. A July 2025 customer had a basement turned into a functional, welcoming space, with clear and consistent communication from start to finish, and in March 2025 another wrote about redoing much of a condo: the floors, painting the entire unit, new appliances and new kitchen cabinetry. Outside work shows up too. A November 2024 reviewer had new siding and a front door put on a rental property; a February 2026 customer had a two-story front deck and a back deck replaced and said the team was informative at every step. A January 2025 reviewer was kept updated with photos as the work progressed. The newest account says the most about what this company can absorb. In July 2026, a homeowner whose original contractor fell through on a 203k renovation wrote that Francois and his team stepped in at the last minute, and credited his knowledge of the 203k process with keeping the job on track. The company's site names 203k renovations, ADUs, additions, basement renovation and bath and kitchen work among what it does, and its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, #212657, is active on the state registry; Houzz lists construction supervisor licence CS-120151. The "Properties" half of the name is real work too: a January 2025 reviewer worked with Francois as their real estate agent on a first home, and a Boston Impact profile from April 2026 describes the company doing residential and commercial general contracting out of Hyde Park and Dedham and looking to move into clean-energy jobs. A sensible call for a gut renovation, an addition, or a 203k project where the lender's process matters as much as the framing. Before signing, pin down which trades are subcontracted and who runs the site day to day, and if you want the running photo updates one customer described, ask for them up front.
