New England Home Painters is a Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts outfit built around one job: painting the whole exterior of a house, then fixing what the weather did to the trim underneath along the way. The company says it's been at it for more than 20 years and is owned and run by Claudio Cautilli, and its BBB file has carried an A+ rating since it registered there in 2014. The written record on file runs from 2016 through 2023 — eleven reviews, every one of them five stars. The same pattern shows up again and again: in a 2020 review, one homeowner said Claudio "spent an hour advising me on paint colors" before the crew started, and in a 2023 review another described the crew pointing out rotted trim and pricing the repair up front rather than surprising the customer with it later. Fixing rot, not just painting over it, comes up across several jobs — a 2020 review mentions "replacing lots of rotted wood" during a full exterior repaint, and a 2021 review describes a garage soffit rebuilt before the painting even began. On the review platforms themselves, Angi and HomeAdvisor both show a 4.8 out of 5 across the same 75 ratings, 91% of them five-star. There's nothing recent in the written record — the newest dated review on file is from mid-2023, so anyone hiring today is relying on a track record that's a couple of years old rather than fresh accounts. The company's Home Improvement Contractor license number, #179451, is posted on its own site but hasn't been checked against the state registry, so it's worth confirming directly before signing anything. Angi and HomeAdvisor also list the business's address in Medway, while its BBB profile gives a Chestnut Hill address — worth a quick clarifying call if location matters for scheduling. This is a fit for a full exterior repaint where rotted trim or siding needs attention along the way, less a general handyman despite BBB also listing carpentry, wallpaper removal and handyman work on the side. Ask for references from a job in the last year or two, and confirm the license status directly with the state before booking.
Outstanding work and workmanship. The job was to paint the hoouse and trim and repair some small rotted areas. Some turned out to be a bit bigger, but they were pointed out to me, they suggested what a fix would entail and a price. I never felt pressured, and what they suggested was reasonable both in scope and cost. I am exptemely happy with the work done. They were very hard workers and got the job done promptly
We had the exterior of the house painted, a few dozen shingles replaced, and stair railings replaced. We are very happy with the finished job. Osman was great to work with. There were a couple minor issues that he was able to resolve quickly, and the house looks great now. The price was fair. Recommended.
New England Home Painters exceeded my expectations. From the initial review of our property with Claudio to the very end, his company took our drab looking 3 story house to a beautiful, mouth dropping home. Our neighbors are even in awe. There were no communication issues and he was so flexible with everything. We went back and forth with a couple colors but this didn’t ruffle a feather on Claudio’s end. I would highly recommend Claudio and his company for any project you may have. We are having him back in the spring to do our large, back deck. Thank you Claudio for everything!! You are a gem!!
The entire team from beginning to end were skilled, informative, flexible, timely, economical and professional! Our garage soffit had to be rebuilt in addition to light construction on the house before painting. Dave and the team did a great job on all of it!
Claudio and Dave were excellent and were even able to do some exterior carpentry work that needed doing.
