New Horizon Contracting, LLC

New Horizon Contracting is a Cambridge, Massachusetts general contractor led by Jose Rivera, taking on everything from brick and patio repairs to interior painting and small remodels. Angi's listing cites 26 years of experience, while Thumbtack lists 11 years in business — the two platforms disagree on how long the company has operated. The ten written reviews on file span 2019 through 2025. Angi's five written reviews all rate 4.5 stars or higher, and Thumbtack's aggregate runs 91% five-star and 9% four-star across 23 ratings, with both platforms averaging 4.9 overall. Reviewers keep coming back to masonry and hardscape work: a 2024 review credited the crew with "great price, on time and quality work" on a patio and steps repair, another from the same year praised quick, budget-conscious estimating on a paver installation, and a third called a small brick repair job clean and crisp. Older accounts from 2019 and 2020 describe a rebuilt front portico called "outstanding work" and praise for bathroom and kitchen work, and a 2021 review described a customer looking for help repairing cracked exterior basement walls and adding garage lighting on a newly purchased older property. Most recently, a 2025 Thumbtack review praised a spare-bedroom painting and remodeling job as respectful, timely, and high quality. Angi's profile also notes free estimates and Spanish spoken, and Thumbtack shows an A+ grade with 324 projects shown and Top Pro status.
