Newbury Kitchens & Baths is a Boston kitchen and bath design studio built around Riccardo, whose name comes up in nearly every review from customers walking through its Newbury Street showroom. The pitch, backed by the written record, is a design-heavy process: 3D model walkthroughs, blueprint drawings, and custom cabinetry — in a 2018 review, a client described cabinets built to spec at a factory in Italy after Ric turned their ideas into a full 3D walkthrough. The reviews, all dated 2015 through 2018, are consistently detailed and positive. A Back Bay condo owner on Commonwealth Ave described the full process from showroom visit to installation as smooth from the start; two other clients came back for a second kitchen project after liking the first result. One 2017 review describes the team adjusting on the fly to unplanned plumbing work uncovered mid-project on a difficult schedule, and another recounts Riccardo going out of his way to track down and personally oversee delivery of a specific refrigerator for a customer's assistant. Before booking, it's worth sorting out the licensing picture directly: BuildZoom shows a Massachusetts home improvement contractor license (#172073) for the company as inactive, expired since May 2014, while Houzz separately lists two different, unverified license numbers (HIC-184363 and CSL-CS-106531) with no stated status. Neither has been checked against the state registry here, and the two sources don't line up, so ask to see current, verifiable licensing before signing a contract. The business's stated years in the trade vary by source too — Angi's page cites 39 years of experience against the company's own claim of over 20. For someone drawn to a design-forward kitchen remodel with a showroom experience and custom European cabinetry, the project accounts here are strong — just get the licensing question answered up front.

Ric was very good at providing a clear picture of how our kitchen would look in the end. He took the ideas we had and showed us exactly how it would like via 3D model walk throughs. Then to blueprint drawings and to the factory floor in Italy where our cabinets were made. He dealt with everything in between. He showed great flexibility and was a good collaborator. The 3d modeling tools he used were very good and helped us make our kitchen just the way we wanted it. If sometimes we were indecisive about some feature or look, Ric could just generate a 3D representation of it and even a walk through that would help us decide. The quality of the products that he steers you to helps cut the clutter of all the options out there. We often comment how much we love our kitchen and how it turned out just the way we wanted it to, and our guests always rave about how beautiful it is.
Riccardo was so incredibly helpful! I called him by chance looking for a SMEG fridge for my bosses daughter starting college. He immediately got on finding the fridge for us, handled the shipping and even supervised the delivery to make sure everything was okay with the fridge. Would absolutely recommend purchasing through him, and would definitely use him for future needs!
Our flooring project turned out beautifully, refined and with impeccable attention to our customer needs and difficult schedules. While on site we also ran into additional and necessary plumbing work and Riccardo was beyond accomodating and ressourceful in fiding the most efficient solution, teamwise, logisticswise and budgetwise to get the job done in a relatively uneasy schedule on our end and difficult building logistics to have to deal with. Riccardo and his team worked seamlessly and with the most human attention homeowners would want to look for when dealing with remodeling and any house project.
Riccardo is extremely knowledgeable in all aspects of the design process. He takes the time needed to explain the reasons behind the placement choices, the best use of materials, and the most cost effective design. Functionality and tastefulness are seamlessly combined in each of his designs.
We used NKB for our office kitchen and it came out BEAUTIFUL! Awesome cabinets and for 1/3 of what I expected to pay. Plus they came in completely assembled, crated (NO DAMAGE!), and the finish was gorgeous. We've got one sweet break room now!
