Nick Moniz runs NME Surveillance out of New Bedford, and both halves of the business sit right in the name: he is the master electrician, and he is also the one putting the cameras up. The company's site describes the mix as electrical installations, panel upgrades, generators and surge protection alongside security camera and alarm systems, across Greater New Bedford and the South Coast — Fall River, Westport, Fairhaven, Wareham, Plymouth, Barnstable. It says the business is locally owned and owner-operated by Moniz himself. Twenty-four written reviews on HomeAdvisor go back to 2017, and the jobs in them are the ordinary ones a house throws at you. A January 2025 customer had a panel rewired and a generator hooked up: on time, quick, a reasonable amount of money, and, the reviewer noted, a one-year guarantee on the work. A review from that same month describes a same-day visit and a problem solved in a very short amount of time. In a November 2024 review, two exterior motion-sensor floodlights went in at what the customer called a reasonable price; another from that month says the job came in under budget. A March 2026 review covers a bathroom exhaust fan install — prompt and clean. Price shows up in several of the accounts. An April 2018 customer replacing outdoor service lines got a next-day quote, said his was the best price of four different quotes they'd received, and noted he showed up when promised in cold weather. A March 2019 reviewer says he looked for a less expensive way to wire a microwave; a June 2017 customer upgrading their service called him fairly priced. On the security side, a May 2017 review describes a camera system install where he walked two customers who said they weren't tech-savvy through running it, and a May 2024 post on mappca.com credits him with rewiring after another electrician's work and installing four surveillance cameras. Two accounts run the other way, both old. A September 2018 reviewer gave half a star and wrote "Stay away." HomeAdvisor's profile also carries a detailed 2017 dispute over a possibly-cut thermostat wire and a combative phone call. And the site's own account of how long it has been at this doesn't hold together: the homepage says the business has operated since 2010, a separate Electrical Work page claims over 20 years, and the same paragraph also says more than a decade. For a South Coast homeowner who wants a panel upgraded, a generator tied in, or cameras installed by the same person doing the wiring, Moniz is a sensible call. The site lists Master Electrician #21782 and a security systems S-License #SS-002274, and HomeAdvisor lists the same trade licence number. Before booking, pin down what the one-year workmanship guarantee covers, and agree up front who handles it if existing wiring behind the walls turns out to be damaged.
