Noble Heating & Cooling is essentially a one-technician shop. Its own site says it is owner-operated by Patrick McLoughlin, an EPA Section 608 certified technician working out of Andover and covering Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maine, and the menu is deliberately narrow: mini splits, air handlers and furnaces. The written history is four reviews, all from 2026 — nowhere near enough to judge a business on. Three of them describe work that went well, and they read specifically. In June a customer had two mini-splits installed, called the pricing reasonable and the work tidy, and said McLoughlin came back a week later to check the equipment was being used correctly. Another described getting photos and details as the job progressed, finished on time and on the quoted price. A third had an AC fault diagnosed and repaired on the same visit. The fourth is the one to read before calling. In May 2026 a customer wrote that a filter change he had specifically asked for was not done, that he only discovered it after paying, and that a follow-up text and a message left through Yelp both went unanswered. He also wrote that he had been asked for a review right away and had left a favourable one before checking the work. One complaint against three positives is a small sample, but it is recent, specific, and about follow-through rather than skill. For a ductless install around Andover this is a fair quote to collect — the installation accounts are the strongest thing on the record. Put the scope in writing item by item, and confirm each line was actually done before you sign off and before you leave a review.
Patrick and Mike did an excellent job installing two mini-splits for me. Their pricing was very reasonable and their execution of the work was efficient and tidy. Patrick also explained the usage and maintenance of the equipment very well which was very helpful. He even followed up with a visit a week later to insure I was using the equipment correctly and answered any questions I had. I highly recommend Noble Heating and Cooling and especially Patrick’s attention to detail.
Patrick was very responsive and knowledgeable. Provided me photos and details along the way, competed the job timely and on price, and is now servicing ongoing. No relation with the name but must say good taste 😉.. highly recommend!
I had specifically asked him to change a filter for central air unit because it needed to be changed frequently. I texted him and asked if he did change it and no response from him. I ended up checking and sure enough it wasn't after already paying him. Given that he gave no response to my text or a message I left on Yelp Projects Workspace, I assumed ignoring me after I paid and left a favorable review was intentional. Lesson learned, if you hire this guy watch out and verify everything! He asked me right away for a review, don't review him until you are sure he did everything he was supposed to.
Noble HVAC sent Patrick out to service my AC unit. He found the problem and repaired it quickly. He was very professional and explained exactly what he found to be the problem. I will definitely call them for annual service and maintenance.
