Purified Plumbing and Heating Inc.

Purified Plumbing and Heating is a one-man-and-a-small-crew outfit out of North Andover, and the reviews are really about the owner, Andy, more than a company — customers name him directly in almost every account. Recent reviews describe him at people's homes within 30 minutes of a plumbing emergency and finishing a tankless water heater install with a clear explanation of the work — the kind of hands-on responsiveness that repeats across the record. Specific jobs further back in the record support the same pattern: in a December 2025 review, a homeowner described a badly leaking hot water pipe repaired on the spot on short notice; in a May 2025 review, another described a water heater swap where the technician had the replacement part on hand and tested everything before leaving; and in a late-2025 review, a customer said they switched to Andy four years earlier when their longtime plumber retired, praising him for not charging a fee just to come look at the problem. One recent review describes him handling all the plumbing for a remodeling contractor's basement, kitchen, and bathroom projects, and in a mid-2025 review another reviewer said he was the go-to for many of their real estate clients as well. There's a clear split in the record, though. Two reviews from the last six months — April and July 2026 — describe a very different experience through American Home Shield, the home-warranty referral program: long waits to reach the office, a missed appointment window with no contact, and one customer accusing the company of submitting a false diagnosis to the warranty administrator. Both complaints are specifically about warranty-claim jobs rather than Andy's direct-hire work, but they're recent and detailed enough to flag before booking through a home warranty plan. Its Massachusetts plumbing license, registered to Purified Plumbing & Heating, shows as expired in the state registry — worth confirming directly before hiring, especially for code-relevant work like the kitchen sink and pipe-to-code job described in a 2024 review. For a homeowner calling directly with a leak, an emergency, or a remodel-adjacent plumbing job, the reviews point to a responsive, hands-on plumber who explains the work as he goes. If the job is routed through a home warranty company, it's worth asking about current wait times and getting confirmation in writing — and worth asking about the license status either way.
