Norm Buteau Construction Remodeling & Renovations says on its Houzz profile that it is owned and operated by Norm Buteau and lists additions, remodeling, kitchens and bathrooms, decks, floors and new home construction. In a 2015 review, a customer said Norm remodeled their bathroom and that changes and challenges along the way made it a tense environment. That customer said Norm had to come back after the job was finished to replace a tile that had cracked under the toilet, left them to grout the new tiles, and did not run a bead between tile and wall, and wrote that the tile work was not completely flat and level. In a 2018 review, a customer said Norm built their deck to spec and delivered as promised for the most part, but that details such as caps on posts had cracked and boards were falling off risers on the stairs. The same 2018 reviewer said they had someone else fix the gate because Norm did not answer his phone at the time, and that the window seat he built was good, though its screen doors had been glued rather than stapled.

Like previous review, Norm talks a good game and promises a lot. He built my deck which was on spec and he delivered as promised for the most part. Small details are lacking or falling apart like cracked caps on posts or boards falling off risers on stairs. He did a shoddy job on gate and I had someone else come fix it since Norm wouldn't answer his phone at time. I have since tried to text him twice about stairs and will try calling since no response. He also built a window seat for me which was good although he recommended a painter who couldn't understand stain colors. Would not hire either again. Had to get someone in to fix screen doors of window seat which were glued rather rather than stapled, which would have been better.
Norm presents as a professional with lots of experience with high end work. We had our bathroom remodeled with some changes and challenges along the way. This is when things went bad. Changes/challenges threw Norm off his game and made it a tense environment to be in. I understand that sometimes things get off track but they should be handled in a manner so that in the end things ed on a good note. The work itself was average with Norm having to come back after the job was finished to replace a tile that cracked under the toilet. He left us to grout the new tiles and did not do any finishing details such as running a bead between tile and wall for a finished look. The tile work is not completely flat and level either. I would not hire him for another job and will not recommend him to others. Hard to tell the quality of the work from pictures which are on this site.
