The two people who rated Northwind Builders on BuildZoom in 2014 both gave it one star, and both said much the same thing: work left unfinished, and no answer when they followed up. A separate complaint on a business-listing site comes from someone who describes himself as a licensed construction supervisor. He says he hired the company for a large renovation and that the price seemed fair, but that one of the crew put a foot through his second-floor ceiling, leaving water damage across it, and that it was never properly repaired. Look that number up on the state's register yourself before you sign anything, and ask to see a current certificate of insurance at the same time. If you are weighing Northwind for a renovation, put the hard part in writing first: who repairs damage to existing finishes, how quickly, and at whose cost, alongside a dated scope of work and references from renovations they finished recently.
