In February 2021 a homeowner hired Nuno for what she thought was a small backsplash job and it turned into more: pulling out glass mosaic, replacing the drywall behind it, then setting and grouting new subway tile. She wrote that he came on time, protected the surrounding surfaces and cleaned up meticulously. An August 2020 customer said he and his helper were neat and courteous and the price was good. That is how most accounts of this Lowell tile setter read, back through 2020. The complaints are specific, and one of them was never settled. In March 2021 a couple who had hired Nuno the previous October to tile a tub surround posted the same account on Angi and on BuildZoom: he had promised to correct anything they were unhappy with, they were unhappy with the installation, and they said the corrections did not come. Both platform profiles describe that dispute as tub damage with repair costs the customer was not reimbursed for. In December 2022 a BuildZoom reviewer wrote about calling him for a small repair another contractor had walked away from, after he handed over his card and offered to come take a look; BuildZoom records that as a missed estimate appointment, and its two ratings average 1.0. The platforms sit far apart. Angi and HomeAdvisor each put him at 4.7 across 16 ratings, 94 percent of them five stars and 6 percent one star, while BuildZoom carries only the two negative accounts. Both Angi and HomeAdvisor list the business as veteran-owned, and both list ceramic, porcelain and natural stone installation as the work. The written accounts run 2020 to 2023. So put the finish standard in the contract before he starts: how a tile that sits proud or a grout line you do not like gets corrected, who pays if a tub or fixture is damaged during the work, and by what date a callback happens. An August 2023 customer said he arrived and finished on time; a November 2020 customer said he cleaned up at the end of every day. For a straightforward ceramic, porcelain or stone install — a backsplash, a floor, a tub surround — Nuno's Tile has a run of detailed praise behind it. Settle the warranty wording and the damage terms in writing first.
Numo arrived and finished on time. His work is great!
I talked to this guy about a repair job ( that my original contractor, Dan Fountaine of Goffstown) wouldn't come back to repair. I explained that it was hard to get someone to come in for a small job and he gave me his card and said he would come and take a look at it. So I called and set up a day for an estimate. That day has come and gone and he never showed or messaged me. I probably should have read the above review before I called and saved my breath! He probably is a total hack and his word means nothing. So don't waste your time!!
Don’t hire this guy!! In my opinion, he is a hack!! We hired Nuno to tile a tub surround last Oct. At the time he seemed professional and sincere to do a good job. He professed that he guaranteed satisfaction and said he would correct any installation issues that we were unhappy with. His written contract indicated the same thing. Throughout the job there were several problems that came up. They ranged from installing tile incorrectly, installing cracked tile, actually cracking tile when installing them, caulking incorrectly and cutting an oversized hole that couldn’t be covered by shower head wall plate. Looking back, the fact a professional installer had so many issues that related to the quality of his work was ridiculous. However, he did fix them when I pointed them out. I want to stress, if I hadn’t pointed them out he Was okay with this quality work. Nuno finished the job but, had to come back to to replace the tile he had oversized the hole when cutting it. While removing the 12”x24” tile, he failed to properly cover our new Kohler porcelain tub. He dropped pieces of tile on the tub and made several chips in the finish. Along with chipping the $1500 tub, the shower faucet and controls were scratched and dinged. I didn’t notice the damage immediately as I was focused on inspecting his tile repair and the tub was covered by dust from his work. While cleaning the tub after Nuno left, I noticed the damage to the tub and shower controls and texted him. He eventually agreed to come back and take a look. When he inspected the damage Nuno immediately apologized and assured me that he would make it right! He told me to find some one who could repair the chips and agreed for me to order new shower controls and he would reimburse me for the cost. To be honest, I was upset that this happened but, I believed him when he said he would make it right and stand by his work. To date, the tub chips have been patched though damage is still very noticeable. I replaced the shower control parts that were damaged but, Nuno has not reimbursed me for the new shower control parts. We have been in correspondence with this issue since November. Every time I’ve texted him he apologized and indicated he would reimburse me but, has been to busy to stop by. The last text he agreed to mail me a check. It has been over two weeks and I still have no check. After waiting over four months for him to honor his word, I can’t wait any longer to give this feed back. I don’t enjoy doing this but, I want everyone who is considering hiring Nuno to know my experience. Do not hire this guy. In my opinion, he has no business ethics or character! He does not stand behind hind his work!

Nuno did a beautiful job on what I thought was a small project but was more complex than I thought. (Removing glass mosaic backsplash, replacing drywall, installing new subway tile and grout.) He was on time, protected other surfaces, cleaned up meticulously, and very nice guy. I would hire him again for other projects. Had to follow up once for a quote after initial contact but had to do this with all the contractors recommended. After that, very responsive.
