O'Brien Handyman Services, run by Mike O'Brien, built its reputation on the kind of jobs a homeowner puts off until it's actually annoying: a sliding door that won't track right, a mangled lock, gutters nobody wants to climb up for, a TV stand nobody wants to assemble. Both HomeAdvisor and Angi show a perfect 5.0 across 26 ratings each, and he's listed with an ICC (International Code Council) building-trades certification. His written record runs from 2014 to 2022, and it tells a consistent story across those years rather than a recent one — reviewers keep coming back for repeat projects. In a 2014 review, a customer described Mike diagnosing and fixing sliding closet doors on the same visit, calling him someone "you can really trust"; a 2019 review recounted him repairing a sliding glass door plus a long list of small side projects at a reasonable price; and a 2022 review — the most recent on file — described him choosing to hand-brush a deck rather than roll it for a better finish, after being hired first for power washing. What comes up again and again is that he does more than asked and prices fairly: cleaning gutters and sending photos of each section since the customer couldn't see up there, fixing a mangled door lock and still charging what he'd originally quoted even though the job ran longer than expected. A 2019 review did note one project that hit a rough patch — bad weather and a crew member who quit partway through — though the reviewer said Mike "made it right in the end". HomeAdvisor lists his services as spanning handyman work, cabinet and furniture repair, power washing, gutter cleaning, deck/porch/fence care, and door and window repair — matching the range the reviews describe. His written record runs 2014 through 2022 — a decade of consistent five-star reviews across two platforms — so it's worth a quick call to confirm he's still taking on projects before counting on him for a same-week fix.
Typical Greater Boston range for this kind of work, from regional averages — not a quote from O'Brien Handyman Services, LLC. Use it to sanity-check bids, then get the real number in writing.
A day rate replaces the task list — usually the better deal once the list gets long.

Mike is meticulous! I hired him for power washing and was so impressed I extended his services to paint my deck. While using a roller would have been faster and easier, he chose to brush paint for a better end result. He will return to paint some trim on my house. I highly recommend his company and him!
Mike is so in demand that you have to be able to wait for his service. But it is well worth the wait.
I was quite happy with the work done by OBrien Handyman services. The project turned out to be a bit of a challenge due to weather, and one of the guys decided to quit in the middle of the job. (that was weird...) but he made sure to get it done and made it right in the end.
Excellent communication, on time performance, very trustworthy. Quality of work was a 10+. You can pay more but you won t do better!! I plan on hiring Mike again.
I was very happy with the service provided by O'Brien Handyman Services. I Will highly recommend the services of this company to all my family and friends in the future.
